Why did eBay sided with a seller in removing my negative feedback without even consulting me or asking my side of the story? That's absolute **bleep**
This seller misrepresented his sale and he was missing two key components. One missing component around $27, and the second key component around $5 but which will render the device purchased inoperable.
When I approached the seller about it we ended up in a very heated exchange when all I was looking for a "sorry" and will do better next time. He insulted me to the point of that I am needy and high maintenance customer. And that crossed the line for me which resulted in a "negative" review as he fully deserved. Well somehow he turned around with eBay and got my review removed somehow.
The question is where I can reach eBay to present my case and understand their process of siding with the seller without even consulting me?
In all honesty the 2 missing parts I was willing to buy them myself and get the device in working conditions and all I was looking for was an apology
Give eBay's behavior and since the device is not working due to the missing parts I decided to open a case with PayPal and refund this thing as I am done with eBay and this seller.

Personally I have left feedback as negative and seen it removed. I then left the same feedback marked positive and it stayed.

PayPal offers free return shipping for buyers but you have to sign up for it brfore you file a dispute.
Was this part of the newish rise in seller fees?
Paypal has offered their Return Shipping on Us program for a number of years. And why would anything offered by Paypal have anything to do with a fee increase from eBay? There's a difference between cynicism and logic.

During your heated exchange did you mention leaving less than positive feedback to the seller?

Sort of off topic but related, does Ebay send the buyer a message when feedback is removed? I know as a buyer I've never once gone back to look at feedback I've left, or received for that matter.

Nonsense. It never ends.

Or mentioning wanting 2 other items that was cleary NOT included in the listing?
Asking for 'more than the listing' is a violation and can get the neg removed.
Also, if the seller is Top Rated Plus offering Free Returns- negative feedback removal is part of the comp for that seller (since they are willing to take anything back AND PAY FOR the return shipping label)

I never asked for more than the listing. Imagine buying an Apple Watch that is pictured and described as functional but used and what you get is an Apple Watch without a battery which is not functional as per description or picture:-) That is not asking for OTHER items, is just missing components. When someone have a very vague listing and vague pictures is a red flag to allowing him / her room to play with potential issue. That's exactly what happened to me. It may be as easy is 27 extra $$$ to make that device work but why should I have to do that when an Apple Watch comes with a battery 🙂

I never had issues on eBay in 25 years as a buyer and this it my first stubborn and unreasonable first seller to the point of arrogant. I had minor issues that were very nicely fixed by reasonable and humble sellers. All I asked this guy was an apology and not being an A-HOLE. So he absolutely deserved the negative feedback and his item returned as in is not as described. At the end of the day is my money and I decide who I do business with. Most of you guys here I see are sellers but I really don't care. Without our demand as buyers your business would not exist so please exercise kindness and humbleness 🙂 Customer service is KING, still

Of course it stayed - the seller was happy to get another green dot.............
What a silly thing to do, leaving this kind of feedback is pointless, and other buyers that see it assume the comment was in error, so not sure what your aim was in doing this, but it sure wouldn't bother the seller who could have had it removed at the drop of a hat LOL

This is an ebay world and they do remove negative feedback ...It seems that any deserved negative I leave is removed within one day. I assume its to protect ebays bottom line. The higher the sellers feedback the more their profits. I never cursed or believe never have i crossed the line, I seem to be flagged to have any negitive feedback i leave removed.. Ebay also needs to understand I buy far less from them and i stopped selling on ebay.
I shop mostly on Amazon where feedback is truer...So it works both ways

I have sold on eBay for 2 decades and it's usually the opposite, Sellers rarely get negative feedback removed, so that should tell you something about what's going on. it's the #1 thing most sellers complain about... Negative Feedback and why they can't get it removed. Live and learn.

While eBay probably will endure, thanks to its resilience, remember that the cockroach and certain diseases, which have plagued living creatures for millennia, share this adaptive quality, if no other.
Resilience alone does not mean that something ought not to be avoided, "like the plague".
While quality sellers still exist on eBay, the number of--putting it generously--lousy sellers seems to have ballooned disproportionately. EBay seems to be doing anything and everything to keep sales figures high. As with any system, something has had to be sacrificed in the process.

This gave me a good laugh. In the past few months I've received cards with three separate items from Amazon, all offering payments for good reviews. And when I posted a review stating that the seller was doing this, guess what? Yep, Amazon removed it.

Well both eBay and PayPal failed to protect me. Thanks GOD I put this on a credit card so I was able to decline charges and get my money back. All I had to do is prove I shipped the item back, which I did, after wrapping it in toilet paper, used of course.
eBay is at the lowest is ever been and I think I am done for good with this place.
