Re: How to received my 15 % partial refund from seller for defective item

Ebay doesn't get involved in partial refund offers from sellers. Your option through eBay would be to open a 'not as described' case through eBay's Money Back Guarantee. While you can request a partial refund in the MBG case, the only thing eBay will enforce is returning the necklace for a full refund.

Your best bet if you don't want to return the necklace is to message the seller again and ask them how they plan to handle the partial refund.

Unless a return case was opened eBay's not involved. You'll need to ask the seller to explain what they mean.

Re: How to received my 15 % partial refund from seller for defective item

Seller can simply 'perform' a refund on ANY order within the past 60 days. Doesn't need your permission or eBay permission or any 'return' performed.

They can simply 'click' the order to the left where they have a drop down menu with many choices (print another shipping label etc etc.) and they can do 'refund'.

Your seller won't want to directly issue a partial refund @primorsko2009 because you might come back later with a return request -- and still get the remainder of your payment back.

Instead, you need to start a return request by

- clicking RETURN THIS ITEM,

- select the ITEM IS DEFECTIVE reason,

and then your seller has indicated that they will offer a partial refund, like this:

Then you will see the partial refund offer, for you to accept, like this:

And when you click to accept, eBay will issue the partial refund, then the case will close.

It's important to note that this only works if the seller responds to the case and accepts the partial refund request. If they don't, all eBay can do is send a return shipping label and refund in full after the necklace is returned.

The pictures take up most of the post, and there are only a few words, but you seem to have missed them?
