The customer rep was very nice but was unable to fix Ebay's mistake (to reverse an item that I did not buy).  If this is not fixed, I will contact:

my State's
--Attorney General
--the Consumer Protection Division
--Office of Consumer Affairs
--Better Business Bureau
--Consumer Services

and the Fed Trade Commission.   I will also instruct my credit card co. to reverse the amount debited from my account.
And I will post many negative reviews (just like this one).

Ok thanks for the warning, but if you had an unauthorized purchase, you need to change your password, and contact your bank for a chargeback.

Ebay didn't make a mistake. They don't magically decide to purchase something for a member. And they ship nothing. Individual sellers ship items they sell on the eBay platform.

Somehow your account was apparently hacked. You need to contact eBay's Security Center. They can advise you on steps to reclaim your account.

You should also contact:

the block wall down the street

the sidewalk out front

the tree in the front yard

the curb around the corner

because those contacts will do the EXACT same thing that the 'list' of those you stated you would contact.

You were hacked.

It happens.

It is on the 'owner' being hacked to 'fix it' 'report it' 'stop it'.

Not, the entity.

If you won a bid item or put an item in the "shopping cart"....item might have been paid automatically by your credit card. Just a thought.

Ebay does not ship anything. Ebay did not make an error.

Two possibilities:

• You were hacked. (which you need to report)
• You made an offer and when the seller accepted your offer, it was auto-paid.

Did you make any offers on items?  Auto accepted offers will result in a sale.  What is the item number so we can take a look ans see what happened?

And no the attorney general won't look into an eBay sale dispute.

eBay doesn’t sell anything or ship anything itself … so cannot reverse an action it didn’t take.

Have you contacted the SELLER of the item you say you didn’t order?  It might help to do that before taking all the dramatic steps you are threatening … just so you don’t get accused of filing false complaints.

As everyone has stated, either your account was hacked, or you made an offer that was accepted by the seller and it was auto-paid.  If you were hacked, this is something you need to address.  If you made an offer to a seller without realizing it was binding if accepted, it's a done deal.
