I am new with posting to Community, so bare with me & my (somewhat) ignorant posting.
I wouldn't normally do this sort of posting but this is just ridiculous to me to see this sort of thing going on. Now maybe it's a dad & his pageant princess daughter... (or a stolen photograph?) Still.. In my opinion It is just an uncomfortable photo in my eyes.
Now when all you can do is report "items" to Ebay then what's really the point when it comes down to the users/sellers themselves..?
Most users are too busy shopping, buying, posting or being appalled then shrugging it off, or just ignoring these sorts of things altogether..
Would most of us really want to constantly keep browsing, stop, come post in community (only hoping it gets noticed & reported) & then continue on your day.. It gets very repetitive and becomes a hassle when it shouldn't have been allowed it to begin with. It's almost like working without getting paid.
Ebay has gone off the handles with not monitoring some of their sellers (getting better; but buyers too). Ebay shouldn't Always rely on it's users to report issues as you don't see who you're buying from unless you really scroll down the page and look (especially on mobile app)... this shouldn't have even happened to begin with.
A sweep might be needed if there are such derogatory usernames and what looks like a boarderline child pornographic user profile photo being used. The photo itself just gives me uncomfortable vibes.
Now if I didn't like (what some may call it "snooping" or privacy concerns) to browse and check out the seller I may potentially buy from I think of it more like getting to know your seller without having the chance to personally be face to face while making the purchase. I like honesty and you can't really get that from screen reading some text; anyone could sugarcoat text & photographs.
Sorry if my post sounds like ranting; maybe it is?
Would you complain about it or just shrug it off?

I do find it interesting you claim to be new to the community but have the "Adventurer" tag under your user ID.
To be fair, this was indeed the OP's first post. And they only have three replies, on two different threads. So I find nothing amiss about their claim to be new "posting to Community".

I saw the photo when first posted. It was a lovely photo. You never held your kid like that for a photo? You have too much time on your hands to be looking at people's avatars/ photos and judging them.

when my son began selling on Ebay he asked Ebay for suggestions for a username - they suggested "Big Dong" - hilarious

The photo has been taken down but from what the others are saying here it sounds like you are WAY overreacting and jumping to far fetched conclusions.
Most of the time I barely pay attention to someone’s picture unless it’s particularly clever or it’s a dog. 🙂
I’m on eBay to buy stuff and I come here to chat about experiences. Hopefully learn a little.
I am not here to play profile police.
Don’t like it? Don’t look.

The seller in question was tagged in the original post. I suspect that they themselves removed it, rather than taking a chance that eBay would take it down.

The image is showing on their feedback profile page as well as on their Community profile page. They have not signed into the Community since 2020, so I have to undo my speculation that they saw this thread and removed it themselves. I don't know whether it was temporarily removed/blocked for review, but anyway it's visible now.

A sweep might be needed ...
Have you even considered contacting ebay's sensitivity enforcement & enlightenment department if a possible at home volunteer position may exist for you?

Didn't get to see what the foo-fa-la was all about, but it doesn't seem like I missed much.

Did your son take that name because it is actually in use?

Yes, the complaint has a suspicious mind! Nothing wrong here. Just good fun!
