I've recently been seeing large amounts of Forever Stamps being sold on Ebay for a 1/4 or less of current face value .
All seem to be coming from the same area in California.Ebay and postal inspectors may want to look into this.
If this is what I suspect, there is millions of dollars involved.I have ordered two rolls to view stamps for myself.

Probably fake; an item like that has no 'wholesale' pricing.. but some buyers will do anything to save (or make) a buck.

I'm sure the scammers will thank you for the business.

I purchased to be able to have postal inspectors to look at and will file a claim with Ebay if they are fake.

I searched for "forever stamps." Of 8 sellers on the first page of results, all listed a location of Rancho Cucamonga CA. Not one of those sellers had any feedback as a seller.
You will be lucky if you get anything. There is more than one way to scam a buyer besides sending fake products.

Actually The one I purchased from had over 1300 feedback. But I had to click on ALL Feedback to see feedback received as seller. The Feedback as seller does show nothing.

If fake, the inspectors will confiscate them and you'll have nothing to return...

Yes that is why I would open up package in front of them & get a receipt for them.
The point I'm trying to do if as suspected ,I'm sick of Ebay profiting from stuff like this and not doing anything about it until caught & if the po would find a reason to get involved Ebay would act in lightning speed.
If by some chance they are good great deal otherwise I understand that I may not receive or get counterfeits.
This post was to let Ebay know they may want to look into this & warn buyers. The $28.00 I spent would be worth this to me.

I remember when postage stamps were often used as a form of currency and counterfeiting them was just as bad as counterfeiting any other form of currency.

I sell mint (Canadian) postage on eBay.
If the seller you are looking at is buying philatelic estates or directly or at auction, he has tons of mint never hinged postage stamps that collectors have no interest in.
We sell into a smaller market, but we can sell some of our auction and estate postage at 50% less than face, and that has been sorted and counted into packets of 100 same denomination.
It's a dirty little secret of postal systems that all those stamps they sell to "collectors" have no secondary market. They are not an investment.
We much prefer to buy from the estate, because the collector is often hurt and embarrassed at how much he paid out and how little his collection is worth.
USPS probably accounts for all those stamps they sell each year through the Philatelic Fulfillment Centre, I had a quick look, but couldn't find it.
But none of the collectors who buy from the PFC will ever use those stamps.
They will be sold at a deep deep discount by their estate.

Still is.
A postage stamp is a receipt for future service by the government.
You may enjoy the novels "Going Postal" and "Making Money" by Terry Pratchett, which deal with fiat currency, the necessity of the postal system and the invention of the internet/telegraph, and are also hilarious.

I have never seen anything like the cheap cheap pricing on the forever stamps eBay has. They have not done anything in a month about it. I use stamps so I avoided rebuying but I had to buy more so I didn’t run out. Beyond odd and I have always been skeptical of discounts however I don’t think I have ever had fake stamps. I’m also reading about stuck packages and lost too however stuck I what I’ll refer to. For me since the pandemic started there has always been issues like this present in things coming in and going out with usps so not necessarily related.

I think this is large scale scam.

I will wait for the results when you test it. Remember to let everyone know about this.

How are you going to know if they are fake?
Are you like a crime sleuth or something?
If it is fake, it will work itself out.
Unless you are getting paid to be a detective why bother?
