solution for Final value fee on shipping cost

Hey eBay, since you want us to 'offer' free returns to keep our top rated + why don't you help defray some of that cost by not charging us a fee for our shipping cost?

Re: solution for Final value fee on shipping cost

Because too many cheaters would mark the item was $0.99 with $100 shipping in order to avoid the fvf on selling

Re: solution for Final value fee on shipping cost

The best solution is to incorporate the cost of fvf on price of item plus cost of shipping into the price of the item.

A solution to too many free returns requests.

Take clear pictures, describe to a T, pack well, ship promptly, add a little to your starting prices to put in a risk fund.

Get Real, none of the above will prevent an increse in returns once 'Free' returns with no restocking fee begin! Buyers will have no reason to do their due diligence and will simply 'Take a chance' an item will fit and why not it won't cost them anything

That problem could easily be fixed.

I don't know about that. I get very few returns, not really anymore than I did prior to the roll out of Free Returns.

Admittedly I did make one major change due to this policy. I no longer sell horse saddles here. I did have a few returned on the buyers dime prior as I listed with a statement that though I give detailed measurements a saddle must fit both the rider and the horse and I would gladly take back any saddle that didn't work for either the horse or rider.

As shipping was always over $50 for any saddle I sold and they were the most likely item I had to be returned I decided that this was no longer the correct venue for them.
