As USPS implements price & service changes every July (think the first year was August), I expect that's about the time they're planning to roll this out.
WASHINGTON, Feb. 10, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — As part of its overall strategy to enhance its shipping offerings, the United States Postal Service today filed a procedural filing with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) notifying the commission of the Postal Service’s intention to replace its existing First-Class Package Service category with USPS Ground Advantage. USPS Ground Advantage will feature two-to five day service standards for packages up to 70 pounds.
The filing streamlines and simplifies package shipping options for customers and enhances the Postal Service’s ground product offering with the anticipated summer 2023 launch of its improved ground product — USPS Ground Advantage.

Cubic Rates going to 10 tiers, Max 1.0 CF looks promising. I hope Ebay Shipping and the Pirate adopt this!

I hate to reply to my own reply , but I see Pirate Ship already has Parcel select up to 1.0 CF. I learned something new today😀 let's hope ebay shipping brings Cubic to the game.

Yeah to send 20 lb in a 12x12x12 box from Oregon to New York only costs $17.68 (using pirateship cubic parcel select ground)

Thanks for the informative reply but those numbers sure don't look like they'll save many of us anything.
The biggest issue seems to be for items that fit in a 6 x 9 bubble envelope or similar and under 1lb, we're paying double what we did not too long ago.
I guess that's the new normal and we'll all just bow down and obey...

Don't think so. 4 ounces to zone 8 $4.13. New rate $4.13. Zone 1 $3.59. Looks the same to me.

Unless you are talking about the new gap, where first class went up to 15.99 ounces. Now above 15 ounces goes to the 1 lb. rate when the new rates go into affect.

I see that now First Class, Retail Ground, Parcel Select Ground, (as Ground Advantage) will be insured. In 18 years of selling, I used Parcel Select only a handful of times, and enjoyed the cheaper shipping cost. Then when a package was delivered to the buyer all broken up, I realized it wasn't insured. My bad.---I should have been aware of the insurance policy (that insurance was not included.) The buyer sent pictures of the crushed box. I refunded her money, and she was disappointed, but I lost out on reimbursement.
After that, I used Priority Mail, or UPS...sometimes FedEx. The cost was about the same as if I had paid for insurance on Ground or Parcel Select.

Anyone know if this is also going to replace First Class International?

They are already charging those commercial rates online under "commercial". Reason I noticed USPS rate sheet didn't match what shipstation and all other services was charging and I made a comment that the rates wasn't matching cause is much higher!! I know why now. Thank you!!

Thanks for the info! As long as eBay qualifies for the commercial rates I don;t have a problem with this. The increases to media mail were far worse.

Not sure what you're referencing @greaterthings3 as this change to Ground Advantage doesn't happen until July 9th - over 4 months away.
Here are the current published USPS rates, both retail and commercial. If you're having an issue with current rates I suggest starting a new thread with your questions as it's not related to the switch to Ground Advantage. http://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/Notice123.htm

That price difference from 15oz-15.99oz is a doozy. Pretty expensive just for one ounce.

Lol. I have no idea. Did eBay ever incorporate priority cubic yet? I never bothered to check as I moved those over to Pirateship.

How does this affect Alaska?
Ground shipments through USPS are so painfully slow its not even worth it.
First class and priority have always been on time. But if they switch it to ground only for 1lb or under its go-to be devastating because ground estimates from Alaska always take longer. 2-8 days for media mail? Try 16 day's for Alaska. Estimate is never right
Can anyone shed light?

And it is usually never an improvement.
