Slow Shipping

In many instances, sellers have become slow to ship items.  Generally, pre-shipment labels are created, but the items just sits for days.  Good Ebay buyers pay immediately after winning an item, only to wait and wonder.  Buyers should not have to inquire about shipping.  The seller wants his money and the buyer wants his item.  There's nothing unfair about that if both parties comply.

Are you checking on the sellers handling time before you buy? That can be found in the shipping details.The item must be shipped within that time, or they wont be selling here for long. And Ebay sends out those printed label notifications, not the seller.

As the other posted already pointed out every seller has a handling time. It is your responsibility to check that time and make sure you find it acceptable as some may have same day, 1 day or 1 week. So long as the seller ships within their stated handling time they have done nothing wrong.

Those buyers who message the next day or 2 days later asking when their item will ship are likely perceived by many sellers as an aggravation so I'm going to assume if you are doing this you are likely finding yourself on a few Blocked Bidders List. As far as paying immediately, well that is what you agree to when you decide to purchase something correct? I mean it isn't yours, isn't going to begin to be prepared for shipping until paid for lol.

Keep in mind Saturday's, Sunday's, or holidays are not business days.

Actually, for the most part, ebay has removed the handling times from our listings.  Once in awhile I still see one, and if the handling is over 5 days or so they will post a warning.   Many have complained that showing the handling was helpful, but ebay states the estimated arrival dates are what is important, which is technically true, since no case for non delivery can be opened until after this date.

Keep in mind local postal conditions.

Before postal cutbacks the local post office, which is only two small town blocks away, used to be open until 4:30pm. It now closes at noon and is only open a few hours on Saturday. The last postmaster to retire was the last full time employee. Since then they had numerous clerks fill in. Occasionally the clerk only has time to sort the mail on Saturday and then has to leave. The lobby is open 24 hours a day as compensation, but not the window.

I had two packages last Saturday but the window closed 40 minutes early so these will have to wait until Monday. If I had errands to make to a nearby city then the packages would be delivered at a post office that is open until 23:30 on Saturday. As I had no errands my 3 day worse case shipment timeline does not include making special 32 mile trips just to deliver packages. Most go out the same day or the next day and when I've had a lot in the past I can drop off an entire load to the rear service door for the clerk to scan later.

Very true, but as a seller on eBay for many years I can tell you that it's not all bad for buyers.  Many times it works the other way too. The buyer thinks they can pay at any time they feel like but the seller must ship the second a buyer pays.... Pro's and con's for both the buyers and the sellers too
