Shipping silver to china through a reshipper

I just sold some Franklin mint sterling silver postage stamps to a girl in china. She has a Portland Oregon address that I believe is a re shipper

I did some research and it appears silver is a restricted item to import.

My question is has anybody had any problems doing this? I mean I am mailing it to Oregon, not china.

But I am sure that's where its going.

Well the buyer can try to hassle you and file an INR and seek recourse through eBay, since most don’t seem to hold their forwarding services accountable. But it’s not going to work in their favor. This is going to be an issue between them, the forwarding service and their customs officials. Not your problem 🙂

You are not exporting it.  The reshipper is exporting it.

Re: Shipping silver to china through a reshipper

I am not sure I understand your problem.  YOU are not directly shipping it to China.  Your buyer's address is in Oregon.  Once it has left your hands, you have a sale. (Now whether it is returned is another matter and hopefully not warranted here).  She might be a citizen, or going to school or visiting a friend - what they do with the item they purchased is up to them.  You might be reading to much into this.

I was just wondering what would happen if china seized it.

Lol I probably am but the address is for a china reshipper. I was worried about the item being seized by chinese customs, then having her claim item not recieved.

The buyer will probably file an INR and lose.

Re: Shipping silver to china through a reshipper

You ship to the address provided.  Once you have proof of delivery-you are off the hook.  You have no proof of what they plan to do with it.
