I know that they are being discontinued, but this was not supposed to happen until the 22nd not the 17th. Ebay has removed the option to select either of them today.

Directly from the USPS website:

"Effective January 22, 2023, Regional Rate Boxes will be discontinued. After that date, remaining Regional Rate Boxes can still be used for shipping, but they will be treated as weight and rate packages. Customers who currently use these boxes are encouraged to place orders before supplies are depleted."

Give us our 5 days to ship the regional rate boxes as intended..

You can purchase Regional postage labels through USPS Click N Ship (and their programmers seem to have forgotten to add the retail surcharge).

I tried to use regional twice today. This has the possibility of really sucking. I saved a lot of money over the years using Regional A's especially. I read they were going to change cubic rates around so it may not be that bad as we get commercial pricing here but there are times where a regional costs me 50% of what regular Priority would. For once it was ultimately a USPS decision and not Ebay, although yes, why did they cut it off 5 days early?

Actually Paypal hasn't had 'A' and 'B' for purchase ability for years.

I noticed this last night as well. Had to use pirate ship to print the regional box a label. What a shame that These boxes are going away because they provide a cheap alternative to shipping items up to 20 LBS for a reasonable price. My complaint is why did ebay remove the option if USPS still allows you to purchase regional box a and b's from their website until tomorrow? Obviously the option to ship them will remain, just can't buy them anymore.

When we asked eBay staff about that, not only did they not provide a reason, they even claimed that it was still available. See post #22 in this thread:

Since you already use Pirate ship you should find it relatively easy to use the Priority Cubic rates, which can save as much as the Regional boxes. USPS even specifically recommends that service as a replacement:

We can use the Regional Rate A/B boxes to ship via the CUBIC PRIORITY option, correct? I have not tried it yet for I do not have a shipment today.

If we CAN use these discontinued boxes, can we "alter" the box by reducing the size?

I'd feel better about Pirate ship if they stopped using all the pirate lingo. It doesn't give me confidence in linking my credit card to them. It seems very unprofessional.

Yes we can modify them and make them smaller. Pirateship even recommends it. Here is an email from them:

Nobody has the option to purchase postage for the Regional boxes anyplace, any more. USPS discontinued postage for the Regional boxes, yesterday. Regional postage is no longer available through USPS at any source. The regional box postage rate is defunct, it is no more, it has ceased to be. It is an ex postage rate.
