Tried to print out a label this morning through ebay. Unfortunately the go back to classic button is gone and I have to use the new shipping page. I put in the weight as being 16 oz because it is 15.3 and you cannot put 15.3 on the new page. On the old shipping page, putting 16 ounces in was then converted to 15.9 ounces. Ebay does not recognize 16 ounces as being first class on the new shipping page, will only let a priority label be purchased.
I had to go to PP and print the label to get the first class package rate. YES, 15.9 ounces is first class ebay! Will someone fix this soon? Hope I am calling an ebay person right.

I think that's what I said: "the attitude and skills of local postal clerks vary tremendously. Inevitably there will be some who weigh that 15.5-ounce package, see that the seller has paid for only 15 ounces, and impose an upcharge ..."

a seller can put in 15 ounces as the weight for anything up to 15.999 oz and USPS will still accept the package with no additional charge.
This is what I like to refer to as a recipe for disaster.
eBay willing to put their money where their mouth is on this one and eat any additional charges a seller might face because of this poor upgrade?
Hi @green-night, as I mentioned, we've confirmed with USPS that there will be no additional charge. I can reiterate, there is no risk for additional charges to a seller. I can assure you, while we are working on partial ounces as an enhancement, you will not face penalties for an item that weighs between 15 ounces and 15.999 ounces when purchasing a label for 15 ounces.
Please let me know if there is something more I can do to address your concerns.

There was no reason to change the label printing in the first place. I hate the new page, it's more time consuming.

I had the same problem with a 15.9 oz. on 3/27. The customer service rep I spoke to around 1AM ET on 3/28 was not aware (or up-to-date) about the information you've posted here. Please come up with a method to communicate this stuff to ebay reps and users in a more efficient method. Having to slog through these threads is time consuming, and it's maddening to know that I spent 15-20 minutes having to explain this problem to a rep who doesn't have an answer, when you were already aware of the problem!

I am having the same problem as most of you here, and am unable to purchase First Class Postage for packages between 15 and 15.999 oz. with Ebay's new shipping page. The field for weight only accepts whole numbers, and at 16 oz, or 1 lb., the First Class option is taken away. I used to switch back to the classic label page until they took that away. I called today and was basically just told that I could only ship items up to 15 oz. First Class for the time being but they would report my issue.
Once again Ebay has forced changes on us before they have things working properly on their end. I also have had my account charged several times after the fact by the USPS due to insufficient postage, even though my weight's were correct. The reason given by USPS is I wasn't being charged for the correct zones under the new regional rate model. Ebay's new label page has been incorrectly applying those rates from time to time in addition to the other issue.
Thanks to those on here who suggested purchasing the label on PayPal. That worked for me and saved me over $3 if I would have been forced to buy Priority postage on Ebay. Always nice when you have to figure out ways to work around, or in spite of, the company that is supposed to be your partner.
Thanks Ebay! Please fix the issues with the new shipping interface ASAP!

I have posted on another conversation about this. I am a seller with two selling accounts, one lets me print the 16oz (15.99oz) label, the other does not. The one that does not also doesn't have the link back to the classic site which worked fine. You said that you confirmed with the USPS that there will be no additional charge if a 15oz label is printed for a 15.8oz package. Others have mentioned that it depends on the knowledge of the individual postal workers, which is absolutely true.
A few days ago I received a first class package, postage due (new charge is calculated at retail rate). It had a commercial label of 9 oz but the package actually weighed just under 12oz. The zoned price for the label is the same. So I had to go to the post office and the front desk guy thought I still owed the overage. After speaking to the supervisor at the post office, they determined I was correct and I didn't have to pay.
So, here we go, first, I don't want my buyers to have to go to the post office with their postage due slip due to eBay's technical issue and the sellers inability to print the proper label. Printing a 15oz label (work around) for a 16oz package is not the solution. If the new shipping screen does not work correctly, put the link back to go to the classic shipping screen until it is fixed for EVERYONE... OR... If there is no additional risk to the sellers, as you say, then put your money where your mouth is with a site wide announcement. If any seller cannot print the correct label because they have one of the shipping programs that is not working correctly and that if a seller has to refund the buyer for postage due, that eBay will reimburse the seller, and remove any dings to their feedback from upset customers that had to go to the post office or paid the postage due and felt they were overcharged. Then eBay can go back to who ever eBay spoke to at the post office and get their refund.

Agree. eBay must have the absolute worst programmers and/or simply not know how anything works when it comes to shipping.
This kind of mistake is unreal to release it to sellers in the first place, and then to not know how to fix it secondly. When the original programming worked fine. I thought we used to stand of the shoulders of giants.
