I have been selling on Ebay for 15 years. This was originally a venue for small (and large) sellers to offer their products. Ebay has increasingly imposed their preferences on its sellers even though really we own our businesses and just use Ebay as our technical site. I am appalled at Ebay for forcing this return policy after they have increasingly raised our fees (increased fees, monthly store prices, even charging fees on the shipping charges). I have stayed with Ebay through all these increases but now I am actively looking for options. I started my search yesterday and never realized how many options we really have as online sellers. It may take me a year, but I will complete the process to leave ebay and use another venue for my online selling. I have already started.......

Accepting returns is totally voluntary. It is your choice to have a returns accepted policy. That is what was being debated here @southbyfirefly
Your return policy of 14 days is not enforceable anymore.

There is no more 14 days return,it is 30 days return now.
if a buyer wants to return,he can return it after 1 day or 179 days by filing a dispute with Paypal or his cc issuer.

Yeah, not forcing returns with a gun to your head at all.
How much do you selling do you do here?

You can claim that all you want. It's a defacto forcing. " sure, you don't have to do it. Your listing will just be at the bottom of every search result, won't get discount, won't get seller protections, and buyers will be more likely to open SNAD's, which we will help you even LESS with".
But sure, ebay isn't forcing anyone. You're right on that account.

You my friend are wrong. Just spoke with an eBay rep about this. As long as a buyer claims it is not as described or defective, a return can be instantiated regardless of a seller's return policy and without any proof. eBay is so focused on attracting mainstream buyers and large drop&ship ship sellers, they simply screw over hobbyists that buy and sell stuff for fun. I will be moving away from eBay back to classifieds. Safer selling there than on eBay right now.
She never claimed that ebay money back garuntee isn't still a thing.

I think a 14 day return policy is fair to the seller and buyer. The 30 day policy is only fair to the buyer a seller is forced to wait a month to get a item back and who know what the condition will be after all that time!
