Is USPS ground advantage going to be snail mail?

I am worried about this and debating about just changing my listings to priority mail. If I ship UPS or fed ex ground, it can take over a week for a buyer to receive an item.

First class usually can get across country by the second day. (If mailed Monday it arrives Wed).

Does anyone have any information on this? If its going to take over a week for buyer’s to receive an item (and WEEKS if in Alaska or Hawaii) this service will be awful.

I know ebay is making us manually adjust all our listings too.

Any thoughts?

Ground Advantage is the worst thing USPS did to Hawaii Customers. Anything over 15.99 ounces now goes on a slow boat taking over a week more to arrive here. Leave it to USPS to screw us like UPS.

Was Parcel Select really faster? Or have sellers switched from Priority Mail to Ground Advantage so you're comparing apples and oranges?

It all depends, sort of by luck. I have had items arrive to HI from CA in 2 or 3 days, but other times take up to 3 or 4 weeks. If a plane carrying carrying mail has room in the container they will fill it up, as I understand they pay by volume, and then the item(even media mail items at times) will arrive in 2 or 3 days. BUT if an item reaches , I think it is San Francisco,  where they ship by boat, then an item will sit in a bin until the bin is full. Sometimes taking a long time.

The New USPS Ground Advantage is NO advantage! Mail that would have been fine under First Class is now taking over 4 weeks to Hawaii! Horrible!!!

Since there is no way for Ground Mail to Hawaii - this is working as intended. Since this is not a change at all since it's always been delayed below certain service levels, all that changed was a name only.

For the most part GA is a good.

For HI and AK it's not the best service.

It advertises that these packages can take upto 26 days.

Use priority if you need timely shipment.

It's just a rebranded 1st class package.  3-5 days on average after it's scanned into the USPS system.

So far I am regularly getting GA packages delivered in 2 or 3 business days from CA to the Northeast, OH and TX seem to be taking longer.
