Fedex labels from eBay with max 1000 additional liability?

Is this a glitch or has eBay updated their agreement with FedEx? Like just yesterday I was able to purchase liability for even more than $2000 with FedEx but now it's capped at $1000? Anyone knows if it's temporary?

Thanks in advance

The $1K cap has been in place for a while.

Even the third party insurance offered through eBay, ShipCover, has a $1k cap.

If you purchased a FedEx label through eBay yesterday you would not have been able to insure above $1K.

I purchased a FedEx shipping label with over 2k declared value through ebay on January 9th 2024. I  used Ebay fedex labels on multiple shipments of items over $1000 for several years now. This must have changed recently, rather inconvenient because now I have to go to another service to print shipping labels for higher value items.

they definitely changed it recently.  Fedex used to have a way higher limit and ups was the one that had the 1000 dollar limit.  unsure as to why fedex or ebay made this change as i sell items worth a couple of thousand regularly.

The FedEx service guide lists maximum declared values.  Most services have a max of $50,000 liability.  There are some specific items which are capped at $1000 by FedEx.  I have tried to ship items which are definitely not in any of those categories yet Ebay still limits to $1000.

You can choose higher coverage through Ebay for USPS services.

You've revived a thread from January @jeffbuzz and in the last 7 months the information previously provided has become outdated. For example, back in January the cap to purchase ShipCover insurance through eBay was $1k, but in the last 7 months it increased to $5k.

View this page for current insurance limits through eBay labels for various carriers.

The information I posted was current as of a few hours ago.  What is outdated?

Re: Fedex labels from eBay with max 1000 additional liability?

Yes I'm not following this either. We have sent items worth more the 1k many times this year. It wasn't until recently we noticed that we could only declare up to 1k now thru FED EX purchasing the labels thru eBay. We spoke to FED EX about this and they told us to just use our direct business account and we did and guess what? We declared the item at full value for which it was bought for and shipped it out fully insured. Now from what I RESEARCHED AND READ ON HERE it seems the only way you can insured and item that you sell over 1k is thru USPS because they offer a SHIP COVER INSURANCE that can cover up to 5k? So can we get this coverage using FED EX when we sell items to ship? Its looking like EBAY is playing favorites with the USPS so we have to ship thru them if we want to insure anything we sell over 1k. Please if someone here can explain what's up that would be great
