FedEx shipping cost adjustments.

Fellow eBay sellers,

Be aware of FedEx. I recently received numerous cost adjustments from them, totaling over $100. I believe they are intentionally doing this to take advantage of eBay sellers, or possibly other online sellers, to increase their profits.

I am switching to UPS. If you continue to use FedEx, don't just drop off your packages and leave. Always ask the FedEx clerk for a receipt of your packages with the weight and dimensions for your records, even with prepaid shipping labels.

I have attached some images. FedEx's reported weights of my packages are inaccurate. I believe there is potential for a class-action lawsuit against FedEx. I hope it happens!

Even if it should've cost $10.70 to ship, eBay's system needed to quote that amount in the first place.

Misleading buyers and sellers on their site is not okay. We pay a % to eBay for their shipping service (same commission amount as we pay eBay for a sale).

eBay, fix your FedEx shipping estimates OR pay the overages.  THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED!  It's been months!!!

I just sold a CD changer about 3 weeks ago. Bought the label on ebay weight and dimensions entered in the ebay shipping. Quote $18.72Printed the label shipped the item. About a week later I got the Adjustment. The $18.72 original quote turned into $81.16. The package weighed 13.25 lbs , the revised adjustment weighed 58 lbs. BIG difference! See attached screenshot. ebay response to me, I should have known since it states in the policy that I am responsible for any changes and that I should not rely on the shipping calculator and calculate both the weight in the shipping calculator and also dimensional weight and apply the greater amount. In other words, eat the cost. I'm still trying to figure out how I would account for the additional handling charge of $43.45. I WILL NEVER USE FEDEX AGAIN!

I realize this thread is a couple months old. Anyway, I use fedex to ship thru eBay more than any other shipping company. I know for a fact that my scale is dead on accurate. I shipped out 4 lawn mowers that weighed 2 lbs per wheel and even added an extra lb just in case to total 9 lbs. I just received a cost adjustment from fedex saying that it weighs 11 lbs and they are charging me $8.82 for the difference. I knew Fed ex was doing this but it was occasionally and only for a couple dollars here and there. Whether they realize it or not, they are making way more money off of us ! There needs to be a class action suit started against them!

I have had the same problem twice for large amounts,like $50 overcharges, the company only wants to raise the profit margin for its shareholders like Boeing and could care less about the customers.

Its still happening. The very first time I used FedEx I received an extra charge of $9.44 which Ebay facilitated charging my bank account for. Never again.

Well, FedEx is doing it again. I use eBay shipping caculator and go over my actual measurements and weight. Still get back charged on an item I shipped and was delivered over a month ago. Order number  16-11780-81567.  EBay could definitely prevent this with no back charges on shipping purchased using eBays shipping calculator.

I sell a lot of items. I am having the same issue and it is ongoing for months now. I have had close to $1000 if not more in overcharges for items that I had accurately measured and weighted. Don’t have any issues with UPS and USPS. FedEx is consistently putting these overcharge fees. Regular shipping $15, and additional charge of $30-$40. What???

I'm amazed eBay hasn't  closed up their FedEx  account  or this tech issue  .  Since the problem isn't getting fixed .

The eBay  shipping  calculator  has  all the fee's  Dim  Size  and  all  surcharges   for  UPS and FedEx ,including  all UPS  and FedEx Over size  fee's  from over size 1 to  over size  5   category's  ,

Never in a million years would I choose fedex over UPS.  They are NOTORIOUS for label adjustments after the fact.  Even before these "invoicing issues"

They are doing the exact same thing to me, and from what I can tell, millions of others,  lets see what's a million times their Adjustment fees ?   it would equal HUGE profit margins for fedex.    Dimension weight is a great excuse, but when I ship a box and Round up the weight and size, there should be NO Chance of the price doubling a week later with absolutely no recourse or resolution.

NEVER use eBay for shipping either FedEx or UPS or USPS.  They indicated they are offering sellers "discounts up to 70", but every single time I've tried purchasing shipping service from them and use their label, a week or 2 later I get an additional charge for "adjustment", which can be 20-30% on top of original shipping cost paid.  Even when weighed using an accurate scale and measuring the dims (L, W, H) they will still send you an adjustment.  No way to fight this other than to use a more direct shipping service, ie Stamps.Com, or open a UPS /FedEx account directly.  I honestly believe this is just another revenue stream for eBay, as if they do this to just 5% of the sellers using their shipping service = millions in ill-gotten profits.  Several shipping services offer similar services without the hassle.

Literally, no notice. I contacted the buyer bc I thought they returned the item. I'm considering filing a complaint with the FTC. This is frustrating to say the least.
