I've noticed sellers have been using such rolls to send items - it creates a clamshell sort of package with the item sandwiched between two pieces of the thick paper & trimmed as needed. This would be good for sending things as "flats", & as ebay standard envelopes.
What are these rolls called? Where can you get them cheap?

Don't know if it would be good for Standard Envelopes.

I was only finding the corrugated type, not the flexible, but flat paper sheet type. I must be using the wrong words.

They are thinner than 1/4 inch if the item is also very thin.

Self adhesive corrugated roll...it's not cheap. Plus, unless your items are approved to use this type of packaging by FedEx and UPS, you may encounter additional shipping charges added on that you didn't expect.
It is used a lot on books, but the package has been pre-authorizes specifically to the customer using it. Not hard to do, but you need a FedEx or UPS rep to look at it first.

I'm looking for the type that is flat & NOT corrugated. I'm using USPS to send most things. I haven't heard of the need to be "pre-authorized" to use it. I've received books & DVDs in the mail using that kind of packaging. I guess FedEx & UPS don't like that kind of packaging. I asked a seller who sent something to me using that "
