Did you mean:

FedEx shipping cost adjustments.

Fellow eBay sellers,

Be aware of FedEx. I recently received numerous cost adjustments from them, totaling over $100. I believe they are intentionally doing this to take advantage of eBay sellers, or possibly other online sellers, to increase their profits.

I am switching to UPS. If you continue to use FedEx, don't just drop off your packages and leave. Always ask the FedEx clerk for a receipt of your packages with the weight and dimensions for your records, even with prepaid shipping labels.

I have attached some images. FedEx's reported weights of my packages are inaccurate. I believe there is potential for a class-action lawsuit against FedEx. I hope it happens!

Re: FedEx shipping cost adjustments.

I WILL NEVER USE THIS FARCE OF A COMPANY AGAIN...

I used packaging SPECIFICALLY CHOSEN for their measurements.

I am LOSING money on adjusted shipping costs.  ALL PROFIT GONE AND NOW IN THE LOSS.

No proof of their **bleep** claims... even though THEIR SYSTEM said it was ok at first.    No recourse...  Even against THEIR OWN MEASUREMENTS that said they were ok.

I FEEL VIOLATED.  I FEEL USED.  I FEEL ABUSED.  I FEEL STOLEN FROM.

Re: FedEx shipping cost adjustments.

I am still getting overcharged as of TODAY!  Last week we shipped a sensor that was 2" long .5" x .5" shipped it in plastic poly bag!!!!!! Fedex laid the bag out flat and billed on max dimensions and said it was 2" High! Impossible !!!!!

Your telling me that the sensor shown here is 9" x 11" x 2" IN A POLY BAG !?!?!?!?!?!

Last week another package was DOUBLED because it was .3 ounces heavier what is going on!

Started shipping everyone with my personal UPS account after yesterday, ebay Fedex rate was $350 shipping on large part, my UPS account was $180.00! and without doubt could you imagine what Fedex would have back charged or doubled after it shipped?? this is criminal and illegal.

Re: FedEx shipping cost adjustments.

Just got hit again today 5/17/24 with more false "adjustments" from FEDEX.  Is Ebay doing anything about this ongoing problem?

kyle@ebay

Kyle - this started happening again this morning.  I thought it was fixed because it hasn't happened for a few weeks, but I had money taken out of my account for a label where the weight and dimensions were accurate.  I see others with the same problem again this morning.

Thanks for checking into this.

Re: FedEx shipping cost adjustments.

thumbnail_image.pngAdd me to the list!  I did have customer service credit me for one but I think it was just as a courtesy.

Another example, I shipped a pair of toddler shoes weighing .81 for $6.67.  There reported weight was .81 with a billable weight of .88 based on dimensions and they charged an additional $4.03.  there is no way it should cost $10.70 to ship toddler shoes weighing under 1 lb!

Re: FedEx shipping cost adjustments.

Count me as another upset customer regarding overcharged Fed Ex fees!  I received a email 5/18 stating they were adjusting one of  my labels and then they took $1457.00 out of my checking account, which is over 12 times what I was initially quoted and paid!  Getting ahold of a live person at ebay is a challenge in itself!  I've called multiple times and keep getting told "you need to wait until FedEx gets the issue fixed."  How long will that be?  It's now 5/23 and no word from them!  I believe ebay needs to rectify the issue with their customers and refund the erroneous fees they collected and then figure it out with FedEx

Has anyone been overcharged by this much?  What do you suggest I do?

THANKS

Re: FedEx shipping cost adjustments.

Sellers,

I just got off the phone with an eBay's Team Member regarding these FedEx shipping cost adjustment chargers (11 FedEx shipping cost adjustments and total is $231.92).  Call eBay to dispute the FedEx shipping cost adjustment chargers.  Don't wait because I don't think they will refund you automatically.

Re: FedEx shipping cost adjustments.

FedEx wrongfully adjusted my shipping cost and overcharged me weeks after the item was delivered. I reported it to eBay Customer Service to hear it would likely be reversed and was advised to wait. When nothing happened I called back a week or so later to be advised to call FedEx directly about getting my refund but when I contacted FedEx they said they can't do anything because I don't have a FedEx account (since the shipping label was purchased through eBay) and advised me to contact eBay. So I spoke with an eBay rep again about this and explained it all, and they said they'd escalate it and I should receive a refund and a message after about 24 hours. Well after a few days went by and there was no message or update, I called eBay for the 3rd time (now it's been nearly 3 hours spent on multiple phone calls trying to get my money back), only to be transferred to another shipping specialist who informed me that because the overcharge was less than $10.00 that there was no way for her to refund me or to dispute it with FedEx. So apparently there's no protection for sellers like me who experience this, and I wonder how many others must have had similar experiences. It's wrong.

Re: FedEx shipping cost adjustments.

This is still an ongoing issue, 3 months after we were told in this thread by an Ebay Team Member that they were aware of the problem & working to fix it.

I had a package stated at 7 pounds, which Fedex found to be 5.9 pounds, & is billing me for  a 20 pound package.

This problem has not been resolved by Ebay yet.

Re: FedEx shipping cost adjustments.

I'm still having problems as well.  I had two from May that I disputed once already.  Both were at or below weight and dimensions were correct.  Now it is June 24 and I've had to call Customer Service again because I never got a communication back about those disputes, and now I find out my disputes were both denied.  Unbelieveable!!  So now I'm having to dispute them again!  Downright criminal!

Re: FedEx shipping cost adjustments.

These FedEx cost adjustments are still happening (Order # 21-11698-97496).

I believe this issue is partially, if not fully, because of eBay's system.

When item's weight is 5 lb 14 oz, FedEx will automatically round up to 6 lb AND charge huge "cost adjustment" fees AFTER DELIVERY as a penalty, even when the shipping cost doesn't change a penny for a 6 lb package.

What this tells me is eBay's shipping app needs to round up to the next whole pound, to stop these dubious FedEx "cost adjustments".

If seller puts in correct weight (i.e. not .0001 ounce over 5 lb 14 oz), then they shouldn't be penalized by the shipper via eBay. That's eBay's responsibility. We pay % of all shipping to eBay for using eBay's shipping service/ap.  If eBay's shipping app is not estimating correctly, then they need to cover the additional charges, not pass them unto sellers.

As a seller, all we can do is report the correct size & weight. eBay needs to provide the proper shipping estimates to Buyers and Sellers.

When will this be fixed?!  What is being done?
