WE ALL KNOW THAT FED EX IS PULLING A SCAM AND OVERCHARGING ON LABELS. IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A FEW YEARS. EBAY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT EMAILS WENT AROUND AND THEY ARE AWARE ON A RECORDED CONVERSATION. THEY CHARGED ME AN OVERCHARGE OF $54 ON TOP OF SHIPPING ON A SET OF FRONT FLOOR MATS ALONE. I LOST A LOT. THIS WAS MY 50TH INCIDENT NOW ROUGHLY. I CONTACTED AN ATTORNEY. I AM WONDERING ABOUT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. EBAY WILL SEND A DISPUTE. ALL SELLERS GET A 1 TIME COURTESY FOR UNDER $10. THIS WAS ALSO CONFIRMED ON A RECORDED LINE. IF YOU ARE GOING TO TRY TO CLAIM THIS IS FALSE THEN WE KNOW THAT THE COMMUNITY ISNT JUST MEMBERS. THAT IS ANOTHER PROBLEM. ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS? BEFORE YOU MAKE UP SOME NONSENSE...I OVERWEIGH, OVER MEASURE, AND TAKE PICS BEFORE SHIPPING FOR EVIDENCE. WE ARE ALSO SHIPPING TO PEOPLE WE KNOW WHO ARE CONFIRMING ON THEIR END WITH PICS AND SCALES TO PROVE ACCURACY. FED EX WILL STILL MAKE UP DOUBLE CHARGES ILLEGALLY.

You may want to look into their "Insurance" coverage as well. From what i was told from FED EX ( A few years ago) is that they only will refund up to a certain amount. At that time i think it was $1500. If you insure your item for $10,000, they will accept the insurance fee up to that amount (fee goes up the more you insure it) but will cap insurance claims around $1500. I have not looked into that to see if it changed. (stopped using Fed Ex for expensive shipments) Seems like Fraud for a company to charge and accept for higher insured shipments while dismissing claims over a certain amount.

They are attempting to overcharge me $103 & $94 on 2 of four identical boxes sent to a buyer... also saying they were over weight when they were not. And the label says up to 50 lbs but Ebay's email and label now say 35. I'm livid and will be making sure to get the attention of someone or if not I will be contacting both with attorney. I won't be dealing with either very soon due to these kinds of RIP offs happening often along with forced refunds on items clearly being lied about not as described . I left ebay once over their practices and will be doing so again. And I urge everyone else to do the same before it happens to you.

I sold an item used FEDEX to pack it in a fed ex box. They are trying to charge me 260 dollars saying it weighed 90 pounds. I have to call ebay back and forth and waste time. I get reference numbers and a lot of 7-10 business days with not a lot of action.

We were overcharged $ 1.64 for having our dimension 1 inch smaller on one side than the actual size! Weight was spot on and all other measurements were exactly correct. I over measured in THEIR FAVOR and was overcharged. This is just one of many I am adding to my list of overcharges that are incorrect. Keeping a file! Waiting for a class action if anyone starts one.

This is what is agreed to when you purchase a FedEx label through eBay. My interpretation is the shipping price is only an estimate.
The courtesy rate reflected by the Courtesy Rate Quote on SHIP MANAGER, if shown, may be different than the actual charges for Your shipment. Differences may occur based on actual weight, dimensions, and other factors. Consult the applicable FedEx Service Guide or the FedEx Rate Sheets for details on how shipping charges are calculated."

No disrespect to the user that suggested cost of labels purchased thru ebay are simply estimates or quotes, that the final amount charged may possibly differ etc - everybody understands this, most would (I think) accept it and tolerate a reasonable adjustment, but the real issue here is FedEx re-weighing packages, claiming they weigh much more than they do, or are much larger than they actually are, then ebay whisking the money out of the sellers acct at FedEx's request.
I was billed $193 cad by eBay/FedEx for an item I shipped after purchasing a label for 22 bucks - post delivery, FedEx claimed it weighed close to 20 kg, almost 30 times the 650g package I shipped, claimed it was a different size altogether also, this after shipping an almost identical item, a single vinyl Lp in a standard record mailer, to the same buyer 2 weeks prior with no issues whatsoever.
To clarify further: while I'm irritated by "mistakes" on the part of FedEx, their weighing a different package altogether (oops!) and then getting ebay to bill me for it, my gripe here, the thing that really ticks me off, is the ridiculously poor customer service on the part of ebay, their unwillingness to deal in any way whatsoever; I've been on the phone at least 8 times to ebay over the past couple of months, have been given all kinds of run-around and half baked assurances with multiple expired timelines, and am still no closer to getting my money back.
Unfair obviously, incredibly disappointing and disrespectful for the sellers here also, and entirely deserving some kind of legal action imo.

I'm amazed to see such a mess going on with FedEx currently over billing issue mistakes , Not since around 2019 was the first for FedEx shipping label billing mistakes over triple charges ,which eBay took care of that mess . Well when eBay got FedEx around 2011 there where rare one off billing error issue that happened until 2019 . Since 2019 there hasn't been another major billing error issues until this year . I have had a FedEx account since 2005 And it has been well known about their sorting machines weight and scan not always resetting ,a long with small packages getting stuck to the large ones once in a while that got charged as a large package and heavy weight by mistake which FedEx has known to happen. Far as filing a class action suit against FedEx , the ebay sellers should document all threads on these boards into files and even print them out .And call law firm's that deal in business law's that deal with retail company's like FedEx ,.

I also have had about 5 packages shipped via Fedex come back with additional charges. These were all over or around 50 lbs. I admit my main scale has been down that can weigh that high, however I have a floor scale that is right on the money and I have tested it with dumbbells from 20 up to 150 lbs. I drop my packages off at a Fedex Office and am now going to get a receipt with the weight. If you also notice, many times ebay will list up up 3 Fedex ground options depending on where your customer lives. One will be Fedex Ground, another is Fedex Home Delivery, and also Fedex Ground Economy. I have had all 3 options come up many times and they are all at different price points (some times 20 percent) at times different (however very similar) Estimated delivery dates. I always go with the cheapest as they all appear to go on the same truck and delivered the same way. I have no interest in any lawsuit as my bad experiences are few and far between.

I realize this thread is a couple months old. Anyway, I use fedex to ship thru eBay more than any other shipping company. I know for a fact that my scale is dead on accurate. I shipped out 4 lawn mowers that weighed 2 lbs per wheel and even added an extra lb just in case to total 9 lbs. I just received a cost adjustment from fedex saying that it weighs 11 lbs and they are charging me $8.82 for the difference. I knew Fed ex was doing this but it was occasionally and only for a couple dollars here and there. Whether they realize it or not, they are making way more money off of us ! There needs to be a class action suit started against them!

I have also been going through this and I wish I saw this information before. Fedex and Ebay are scamming me big time. I paid for a pre shipping label according to the exact size and box weight and it was a total of $66.36 through Fedex ground. I dropped off at Fedex in Pompano beach and the clerk said I was good to go after measuring the box and scanning the pre label shipping sold at EBay page. To my surprise, 12 days after the buyer bought my used monitor, I received a message from Ebay that Fedex reported the item was not 45lbs but 254lbs!!!!!!!!! This is completely outrageous and wrongful by them!!!! They must stop this illegal act and this fraudulent charges are absurd. Now it says I owe them $1,462.32 !!!!! Can you even believe this? The used item I sold was $500!!!!! Ebay and Fedex scamming was three times the price of a new monitor. This is absurd and ridiculous! I have retained legal counsel to avert the damage this is causing my family and I. Im absolutely disgusted and devastated with this illegal action by both companies. I have all the proof there is to show they are wrong. Please keep this information post going so we can alert the lawful public that tries to do business with them and get completely screwed doing so. What happens now? Ebay will try to send to collections? More damage added to injury.

I ship Fed Ex & UPS frequently. no up charges or recharges. I do not know what I am doing differently. I round up to the nearest inch for the dimensions, I'm not shipping oversize. I round up to nearest whole pound as well. I once used ebay for them & opened my own free fedex & ups accounts for the convenience & easier claims filing based upon accounts here in community. Their web site is not very complicated & the agents are always helpful to me.

This just happened to me through Fedex. Shipped a package on 2nd day air that was 4x4x34 and 2lbs 5oz. Prepaid shipping price was about $16. Fine, perfect. Then FedEx adjusted the size to 3lbs and 10x28x38 and billed be another $174. Absolutely crooked company. Will never use them again. Happy to join a class-action lawsuit.
