Hello,
Not trying to be that kind of person, but I buy items pretty regularly from sellers on Ebay. Many of the items I have purchased have been shipped out and arrived with plenty of time to spare. Recently, I purchased an item ($75 electronic) from a seller about 3 hours away from me, in the same state. This purchase & payment happend last Thursday, October 18, at around 2pm. I received a message from the seller on Friday, October 19, around 5pm saying that they just saw that I had bought their item and that they would ship as soon as the USPS office opened. I assumed they meant Saturday, but then as the weekend went on, I figured Monday. However, I didn't get a tracking number until yesterday afternoon around 5pm (Shipping Label Created). It is now Wednesday afternoon and the USPS tracking hasn't updated to show that the item has been to any post office yet. The estimated delivery date is tomorrow but I'm quite sure I won't receive it.
Am I being a little weird about this? I just figured that with the seller being so close to me, that I would receive this item in no time. I'm okay with it being a little late, but I had ordered items last Friday that had been delivered to me yesterday (a good 2000 miles away or so) so I'm wondering if the seller has just created this label and not dropped it off at the post, or has taken it to the post office and it's just taking a while to sort?
I haven't messaged them back other than to say thank you back on Friday.

I mean really. I could leave negative feedback. These forums really heavily cater to the seller I've noticed and not the buyers. It's not your feedback so why are you so concerned? Do you want me to be irate? Do you think that me being very angry and leaving negative feedback is a more satisfactory response?
I guess I should completely clarify what I meant by a little late. Late meaning if it's the post office's fault. In this case, this is a problem with the seller not shipping the item out in time. I find it funny that they messaged me last Friday saying they would ship out ASAP and that it wouldn't take long to arrive since I'm fairly close by. Yet they didn't bring the package to the post until this morning. If the package was legitimately shipped out on Tuesday, I wouldn't be upset. If the package tracking was never updated yet arrived at my mailbox this afternoon, I wouldn't have been upset. However, the circumstances are pretty clear in what happened. Seller delayed shipment for an unknown reason.
Anyways, I really don't care to have other snarky replies to this board and would really like it if people would just stop. I already updated and said that the USPS said the package was dropped off this morning at 9am.
I will leave neutral feedback. Because it's well deserved.

Many pkgs are not scanned along the way..I have had pkgs not scanned until they arrived in the buyers state.

Gotcha, that's good to know. I just know that it's been stuck in Pre-Shipment for over a day now, so I guess I can wait until tomorrow and message the seller to see if they have taken it to the post office. If they have, I'll just watch the tracking like a hawk, lol.

If they haven't, there will still be nothing for you to do but watch the tracking. Did you order insulin, or a kidney? Try to relax.

My guess is that the seller didn't buy the lable until around 5 PM based on the "label created" note and tracking number you saw at about the same time. Then they may have take it to the PO this morning. If so you should see some movement tomorrow morning. Lot of movement updates happen when you are sleeping.
IMO your seller seems to have a lack of a sense of urgency.
Hope you receive your purchase soon and you are satisfied (except for a possible delay in receipt).

Thank you guys for all the replies. I am being pretty patient I think, just wallowing in my own mind at the moment haha.
As of today, it's been 2 days since the shipping label was created and it still says "Your package is on it's way to a USPS facility." I'll wait until I leave work and contact the seller and just ask if it has been shipped since it was estimated to arrive today.
On another note, another delivery most certainly isn't going to make the "guarenteed delivery date" by today (I guess I just have bad luck) but it's a cheaper item so I'm hardly worried about it.

Thanks for the reply. Crazily enough finally I got notification that it's at the post office. Estimated delivery through USPS is now saying this Saturday, which is 2 days past Ebay's date. I guess I will just let it slide this time and leave neutral feedback for this seller in regards to how late they shipped the item. Somehow, I'm still finding this super hard to believe that it's going to take this long since it's just 3 hours away....and I bought this a week ago, but whatever. It was my bad going through a seller who is obviously not in a hurry to do anything. 😞

You should not compare a seller's delivery time against another seller's delivery time, especially on distance. You seem to think the closer seller means getting it faster.
That is not true.
Each seller sets their own handling time. Your last 2 feedbacks are from sellers in the same state. One has 1 business day handling and the other has 5 business days handling time.
Maybe your seller encountered a family emergency or something that held them up for a few days. I do know that eBay keeps tabs on their seller performance and can tell if they shipped within their handling time, etc. They get defects if they fall below standard. So basically eBay punishes them for you!

Yes, but I'm pretty sure that Pre-Shipment means it was never dropped off at the post office. It's pretty unacceptable to take a week to drop off a package at the post office expecially when I bought/paid the same time (it was actually a Best Offer thing, so I'm surprised that the seller took so long to realize I accepted their offer when they made a counteroffer within an hour after I sent the offer). I could be leaving negative feedback but I won't.... I just know that creating the label is not the same as shipping, and there really should be no excuse as far as creating the label and letting it sit for a few days. Yes, they may have had an emergency, but looking at the only other seller feedback they have, it did say that the item did not arrive in time. I didn't realize it said that because the person leaving the feedback wrote it like "did t" so I didn't think about it. Again, oh well. But neutral feedback seems fair in this case.

Reading your posts are quite something---you went from I'm okay with it being a little late (1st post) to now deciding on a neutral rather than a negative feedback.
You cannot know they didn't drop off the package as soon as possible after printing the label. It may be the case but just this week I had one of my packages get stuffed into my mail lady's vehicle on Monday morning and there was no scan at all until it was delivered yesterday afternoon.
If the ebay estimate had been Saturday would the arrival have been satisfactory to you? I have extended my handling times but notice that ebay doesn't allow for that when they quote their estimated delivery dates to my buyers.

1. The OP stated that they first saw the "label created" and tracking number around 5 PM on 10/23. That info is posted in almost real time when the lable is paid for and purchased thru eBay as I have evidence since I started selling and shipped 1516 packages. Back on track now, Our PO closes at 4:30 PM M-F and Noon on Sats except around Christmas time and the big blue drop boxes outside the B & M PO office is emptied around 4:30 PM . So it is very safe to assume the earliest the package was physcially placed in the hands of the USPS would have been 10/24.
2. The OP also stated that they had an estimated delivery date provided by eBay which takes into account the sellers handling time. As of this date, 10/25, the package is past due adn is now expected to be delivered on Sat. 10/27.
3. The only issue I see with the OP is that the eBay estimated delivery date is not a "guaranteed delivery date".
4. With all that being said IMHO the seller is very lax in performing his/her duties and should not be classified as a seller but rather an order taker with no sense of urgency and seems unwilling to respond to the OP inquires.
