Estimated Delivery Date about to pass?

Hello,

Not trying to be that kind of person, but I buy items pretty regularly from sellers on Ebay. Many of the items I have purchased have been shipped out and arrived with plenty of time to spare. Recently, I purchased an item ($75 electronic) from a seller about 3 hours away from me, in the same state. This purchase & payment happend last Thursday, October 18, at around 2pm. I received a message from the seller on Friday, October 19, around 5pm saying that they just saw that I had bought their item and that they would ship as soon as the USPS office opened. I assumed they meant Saturday, but then as the weekend went on, I figured Monday. However, I didn't get a tracking number until yesterday afternoon around 5pm (Shipping Label Created). It is now Wednesday afternoon and the USPS tracking hasn't updated to show that the item has been to any post office yet. The estimated delivery date is tomorrow but I'm quite sure I won't receive it.

Am I being a little weird about this? I just figured that with the seller being so close to me, that I would receive this item in no time. I'm okay with it being a little late, but I had ordered items last Friday that had been delivered to me yesterday (a good 2000 miles away or so) so I'm wondering if the seller has just created this label and not dropped it off at the post, or has taken it to the post office and it's just taking a while to sort?

I haven't messaged them back other than to say thank you back on Friday.

I mean really. I could leave negative feedback. These forums really heavily cater to the seller I've noticed and not the buyers. It's not your feedback so why are you so concerned? Do you want me to be irate? Do you think that me being very angry and leaving negative feedback is a more satisfactory response?...

I will leave neutral feedback. Because it's well deserved.

It depends on the situation.  Most of us give advice/opinions based on the details given, and that can lean toward either a buyer or a seller.   Many of us are buyers and sellers.

I'm not sure why you ask me if I want you to be irate.   That's a strange question.  If you mean just because my opinion doesn't line up with yours, then no I don't.

Re: Estimated Delivery Date about to pass?

What shipping service did you pay for? Priority, Parcel Select?.. That makes a difference.

Does the seller have a stated handling time? I buy items too, and some listings show a handling time (2 days, 3 days, etc) and some don't show it. Not sure why that is, but just what I've noticed. If they have a 3 day handling time and you paid Thursday, they could mail it the following Tuesday and still be within their stated time. Ebay always paints the rosiest of pictures with their estimated  delivery dates. That helps eBay, but isn't always the best thing for sellers.

Always check tracking on the USPS site, and it sounds like you did that. Their estimated date is usually accurate. You can sign up for email/text alerts for every time the package moves/gets scanned, if delivery date gets updated, etc.

You can always look for listings that have the little "Fast and Free" icons or Top Rated Seller ribbon, since those are shipped same/next day. Or should be anyway.

I still wasn't clear on what day tracking shows they actually shipped, and what their stated handling time was, if it showed. (You can go to the "shipping and payments" tab, and see if it shows a handling time.)
