Did you mean:

Do anyone get defects on they seller ratings cause USPS drivers DO NOT scan picked up packages?

Do this happen to you much?  Them USPS drivers (IF NOT REGULAR DRIVER WHO DO GREAT) they just grab packages and go.    Some drove around with packages up to 4 days before turning in.   Lazy local post office may or may not scan the packages and same for Memphis PO.   You then get an UNREMOVABLE defect   I figure FEEBAY looking for  a way to demote you from TOP RATED SELLER so they can  charge more fees.

Also the rhetorical question:  IS they "SUPPOSED TO SCAN" packages picked up from a mailbox?????????????????   I get different answers at different POST OFFICES.    One lady said she just filling in and was usually a driver and would lose her job if she did not scan picked up packages.   Ain't true my my local post office 😞

Re: Do anyone get defects on they seller ratings cause USPS drivers DO NOT scan picked up packages?

I'm with you on that - I don't have time to wait in line to get acceptance scans, especially when those lines are at minimum 20-30 mins long as my USPSs are all understaffed.

However, unfortunately, that is truly the only way to ensure you get a validated acceptance scan. If this continues to be a problem, then I will have to do that..

Do you want eBay to send an employee to accompany every carrier, and stand in every Post Office to force the scanning of packages?  eBay has to have "standards".  Sorry that your PO's/and employees do not measure up.

What would be your solution? Allow any seller to say............  but, but, but not my fault, so give me a pass?

I'm blessed with postal employees that do their job. (Knock on wood) Out on the highway, and in the offices, they scan my packages.

@rosemary6525

Lucky for me, hardly ever. When I sold, I used USPS exclusively and received crackerjack service. (Admittedly, my carrier scans on pickup.) In all the years I sold, I only lost the one at the dreaded Memphis Distribution Center.

Here's a suggestion, if you're having problems with postal carriers not scanning when they pick up your packages. Take the packages to the post office wait in line, get a scan receipt. Problem solved!

I got a late shipping because the PO had it a few days before scanning.  I switched to 3 day handling to help with that.

You got that kind of time to waste??     I would not sell anything if I had to do that             Well if I lived in middle of nowhere and by a PO

I am able to mark items shipped and then add tracking whenever in a day or more without a problem.

I take my packages to the post office and get a receipt and add the tracking at some point.

Can't do that with eBay labels...

I prefer 3-5 business days for shipping.

If you can't get to a post office why would you do quick shipping?

'suppose to scan packages picked up from a mailbox'...we had heavy downpours today and I wouldn't think anything would be scanned here if it was picked up.

Weather-related days don't expect anything to get a scan.

I think the USPS does a great job..haven't had a problem in years.

I have all the time in the world to go to the PO, so I don't consider it a waste of time.  I have 3 PO within 10 miles of me.

Going to the PO takes couple of minutes in and out, there might be a couple of people in line ahead of me.

Who said anything about living in the middle of nowhere?
If going to the PO is such a hardship for you, you may want to consider changing your handling times.

What part of that isn’t possible with eBay labels? The only thing I could even think of is your item will show as shipped with the tracking number when you pay instead of you manually adding at a later time. Are you saying that’s better for some reason to manually do that?  I don’t understand your obsessive need to declare you don’t use eBay labels on every thread about shipping.

ebay shipping label has tracking on it immediately...am I correct? Thus, it has to be shipped that day...is that correct?...Especially if you want a 'scan'.

I can mark an item as ship two days ago without tracking and ship not yet and add tracking today...am I correct?

'obsessive need to declare you don't use eBay labels'...well, if nobody ever ever posted here about ever losing something in the mail I guess I wouldn't ever say anything.

And most of the posts seem to be about shipping...correct?

No, once your package is marked as Shipped (either by you marking it manually as such, or by you buying the postage on-line through eBay), you just need to have the package scanned by USPS within your Handling time. Push your Handling time out by a couple of business days if you cannot ship on the day of payment.

It appears that you are saying that you mark an item shipped, and then maybe 2 days later you go to the PO and ship it. Not sure what the "logic is in that. Buyer sees "shipped", and then they see that it was not scanned until 2 days later. There they were thinking, cool this seller has shipped my item. I will have it quickly. Oh, what is going on here? Where is my purchase?  Oh, seller did not really ship when they said they did ☹️

But, as you have no such buyer complaint then reverse logic would mean that you are correct.

Continued misconception that if something is shipped from the PO using a retail label that the probability of it being lost is somehow diminished compared to an online label purchase shipment. Illogical logic.

As you have not lost anything, reverse logic would mean that you are correct, but A -B does not always =C

No.

Right on the label prep page, a seller can choose a delayed shipping date up to 3 days in advance. For instance if a seller wants to prepare his packages promptly but only goes to the PO twice per week. Also, if a label is purchased on a Sunday or holiday, the date automatically advances to the next business day.
