Starting Sunday, January 28, NO goods, only documents, will be allowed to cross the Russian border unless they are shipped by a business to a business in Russia. NO goods will be allowed to cross the border that are shipped by ot to an individual, period. As far as I know, this onlt apples to shipments originating in the USA
THis is an absolute fact and should not be ignored.
Why does ebay allow these transactions to proceed when there is no chance of delivery?
It would seem that it is difficult, if not impossible to have any transactions with Russia. The seller protection, what little exists, would not apply. Even if the Russian buyer could provide a Russian business ship to address, how would the buyer get that address to show up on the paypal payment?

These already in place restrictions made in nearly impossible to send much of anything to Russia. Now, EVERYTHING, save documents, is banned.
When will ebay acknowledge this situation and stop enabling transactions that cannot be delivered.
Could it have anything to do with the final value fees being collected?

I just sold a guitar to a guy in Russia and USPS said they can ship there.
And it doesn't have to be a business.
Anyone else with any Russian shipping experience?

Unless it is documents, you cannot ship items to individuals in Russia period.
I ship to Russia regularly, but I ship to an approved business in Russia. Also, I use DHL only, never USPS. I can ship from California to Moscow in 2 days, Siberia in 4 (3.5) days with DHL.

I checked the ship locations allowed on one of my shoe listings. I use eBay's GSP and Russia is not on the list when I try to change the country to determine what the ship fee to buyer would be. I did see an older post that showed eBay GSP did ship to Russia (2014) but I guess eBay has taken Russia off the list as of some time in 2018?
I don't know about GPS to Russia, I use USPS 1st Class Int'l. Just shipped a pair of slippers a few weeks ago and got delivery confirmation and a thank you from the buyer.

I've been shipping to 'individuals' in Russia for 10 years via USPS, some Priority or Express, but mostly 1st Class Int'l without problems. They are some of my best customers.
Just shipped a pair of slippers to an 'individual' a few weeks ago via USPS 1st Cl Int'l with a successful delivery confirmation and a happy customer!

Approved E-Retailers (internet stores) may only ship to private people up to a value of 1000 Euro (approximately $1400 US) and 31 Kg (69 lbs). The Passenger Customs Declaration is not required and ther are no brokerage fees. E-Retailer shippers should contact their local Sales for approval and registration details.
#14 I believe. Ebay is an E retailer even though it’s millions of sellers.
Believe me being a child of the Cold War I have no love for Russia but I’ll ship there if someone buys. Your item was too valuable that’s all.
All of that information quoted is in the guide for using Global Express. It doesn't apply to other usps international services. I think that any express service from couriers also has similar rules.
I've mailed a few things to individuals in Russia and haven't had any problems.

Ive had better luck sending stuff to Russian than I have had England. I sell things that arent always easy to find and can make peoples lives miserable if they decide to mess with me.
