Customer able to select UPS Ground when they have a PO Box

Buyers can choose UPS Ground as the shipping method, even though their address is a PO Box. Why? eBay won't let me select UPS as a shipping option when it comes time to purchase a label. So they can tell it's not a valid option for me. But the buyer doesn't get an error message when they try to select it. This seems sooooo easy and obvious, since there is clearly already logic in place for part of the process...

Any listing you have that ships UPS you can exclude PO Boxes in your Shipping Exclusions, then buyer will be notified.

We offer USPS and UPS shipping options. So we allow PO Boxes. We shouldn't have to exclude PO Boxes just because eBay has a bug. (Or, at the very minimum, an oversight.) That would theoretically keep some potential customers from purchasing...

eBay will not let us choose UPS when it comes time to generate a label. Not if the address is a PO Box. So why don't they apply the exact same logic when the customer tries to select a shipping option with their order...?

This needs addressed with an actual fix.

Since when does UPS deliver to a USPS box?

It could be confused         Sometimes they do.

UPS only delivers to PO Boxes if the package is sent via UPS SurePost or UPS Mail Innovations. If you need to use a different UPS service, you will need to provide a physical street address for delivery.

Not sure @rfmtm - I thought eBay had a block in place for that.

Can you check @replacementradios to see if the buyer's address had both a street address and a PO Box or if it was exclusively a PO Box?

If the items aren't large you could use UPS Ground Saver. I know eBay hasn't added it yet. I believe it's in the works. You can buy on pirateship.

Doesn't help for larger items much.

However, when shipping since the pass off is the same as the delivery location I wouldn't consider it economy service.

You can't be getting too many of these. I'd suspect it happens on a rare occasion.

eBay does. UPS Ground = Standard and UPS Ground Saver = Economy

Technically by switching it's a downgrade, buyer can file SNAD, and estimated delivery date may not account for the length of transit time. I'm sure risk is very low, but thought it should be called out.

Oh, interesting. About time they added it.

I've never had a complaint over it from PO box users.

I know eBay considers it economy but if they select an incompatible service then I gave them the service they selected that is compatible with PO boxes.

Sending it USPS Ground Advantage could be more complaint worthy since they selected UPS.

I would ship USPS if possible. If the buyer says anything, just tell them UPS doesn't ship to PO Boxes.
If it's not possible to ship USPS due to cost, I'd send them a message explaining that you need a street address for shipment
