"Start a New Discussion" feature from the community home page.

sheila@ebay

A member has brought up in another thread that s/he can't start a new discussion from the community home page by using the blue "Start a Discussion" button.

I tried it as well got a error message when I had finished the entire new thread and clicked on "post."

As stated in my first post, the problem arises when a member tries to start a new discussion from the "Home" page, not from a discussion board page:

I tried to select the "Discussions/Buying & Selling/Selling" board, but it would have gone to the Q&A board, too, had it worked. I thought the whole dropdown for selecting a board was, well, weird. The options just weren't clear at all, IMO.

@pburn   I poked around some more with this and there IS a problem

sheila@ebay  This is the starting point that we are referring to... the main start a discussion button>>.

If you try to start a discussion you will notice that board titles are listed TWICE.  For most of the FIRST instance of the board title I receive the ACCESS DENIED error.    I could include a screenshot of the access denied message but I think you know what it looks like. There is no error code.

For the second instance of the same board titles, posting appears as if it will work... I didn't want to post on every board to verify it though.

I did this on the home page as well but wasn't able to replicate the issue.

I'll submit a ticket to Khoros and ask them what kind of information I'll need from the Community so they can try to fix this.
