eBay ITSELF convicted of cyberstalking critics?

just read about how eBay's global head of security, some ex-pig, cyberstalked some poor couple so bad that the FBI stepped in and arrested him.  as someone familiar with cyberstalking and what it takes to actually get any response, let alone one from the FBI, let alone an arrest... eBay was doing some really far-out, aggressive, criminal stuff

scummy move guys

Re: eBay ITSELF convicted of cyberstalking critics?

the FBI tiptoes around naming the company that stalked these people for some reason... but that company is eBay:

Re: eBay ITSELF convicted of cyberstalking critics?

It is actually worse than that in that the employees traveled to MA intending to install gps trackers on the blogger's car and conducted surveillance on  the blogger's home in person as a group.

https://www.justice.gov/usao-ma/pr/six-former-ebay-employees-charged-aggressive-cyberstalking-campai...

From the complaint linked above:

"The third phase of the campaign allegedly involved covertly surveilling the victims in their home and community. According to the complaint, Harville and Zea registered for a software development conference to explain their trip to Boston on Aug. 15, 2019. Baugh, Harville, and Zea (and later Popp) allegedly drove to the victims’ home in Natick several times, with Harville and Baugh intending at one point to break into the victims’ garage and install a GPS tracking device on their car."

Re: eBay ITSELF convicted of cyberstalking critics?

Ebay management has been working hard to destroy the company for more than a decade. This isn't surprising. They continue to ignore input from users the would help the company. They have gone to extreme measures to make using Ebay as difficult as possible. Now we learn that not only are they incompetent - they are also felony criminals.

Interesting that there is nothing forthcoming to us from eBay! No announcement, no comment at all?

I am so disgusted. These are top people at eBay, the very people in charge of security. Do they still have jobs today? WHY?

"....Ebay management has been working hard to destroy the company for more than a decade...."

All this reeks of the same thought processes showing up in states and cities across the US.  Let the mobs control and destroy what honest citizens have worked for.  It's impossible to understand this kind of tyranny.

The people involved were fired by eBay when they found out last November.

The eBay Announcement board had an announcement about it yesterday, but it had a ridiculously vague title ("A message from Jordan. Jordan Sweetnam, SVP + GM North America)."  It said in part, "It pains me to write this, and you may have already seen the very disturbing news. Last year, some of our employees acted maliciously and harassed a blogger, who writes about the company, and her husband. Once this was brought to our attention, we investigated and those individuals were immediately terminated. Since then, as authorities conducted their own investigation, eBay has cooperated fully in every aspect. Neither the company nor any current employee was indicted. ...."

I find it odd that it took so long to get out to the public.Or was that their goal/hope,that it would never get out at all?

The federal charges were announced earlier this week. That's how these investigations work; eBay was not allowed to discuss it before then.

Re: eBay ITSELF convicted of cyberstalking critics?

That's just the tip of them,  they put it all the way in and you'll know.   I  SHOPPED ON ebay and really wish they would grease their customers before doing us..  I bought an item listed by them on their site a little later I received a notice telling me I'm screwed get nothing and they are not liable.   They are very quick for this seems ebay will be complicit with theives helping them get out info and do id theft, steal money from us,.lie and post illegal scams ripping off customers for products we don't receive.   ebay not only does nothing they back crooks leaving at best little but more likely no recourse because it is ebay,  lawyers, power, money  and helping or outright burning people stupid enough to do business with.
