Shall We Discuss What we would like to see in 2019 In Regards to the Threads!

There is much discussion on another thread with a completely different subject regarding the pros and cons of the threads.  It is an unfair discussion to have on this other thread as it takes away from the reason for the other thread.

So here we are.  Let's discuss it here.

What do you like about the threads?

What do you dislike about the threads?

What changes would you like to see?

What enhancements would you like to see?

This is NOT about naming and shaming.  A contructive conversation can be had.  Be honest but mindful that saying hurtful things about someone else is NOT the goal of this thread.

Personally, I'd still like an ignore button.

I want an up button.

The monthly prizes.  Never thought much about them since this thread.  But if they are causing hurt feelings, may be ebay should stop them.  In fact after the first one I thought the mod said they would be looking to other boards for the next one.

And I will be blunt. I am not talking about swearing or making fun of someone because of race, religion, sexual orientation, level of education, etc.  But,  Stop contacting the mods and turning people in if you simply do not like a post or have a gruge against them.  IMO it is childish to keep running to the teacher.  It has done a lot of damage here.

I'm not sure, but I think you can still do this if you go into that member's profile.  But I have to say I've never tested it.

Nope. All it does is stop the member PMing you.

According to the Weekly Chat a couple weeks ago, it will be coming back.  They had to remove it as some glitches that were happening on the threads were related to the Up button.  No clue when it is coming back though.

I too want an up button.   It used to be there.   Why can't it still be there?

I would like to see it displayed which country the poster is registered in without having to click the feedback to find out.

How many times have we seen a thread go on and on and on and on with various suggestions until someone pops up and says that none of what was said applies because the OP is in another country where none of those suggestions are relevant. If we knew right up front the country it would save a lot of posting time and space and we could get right to the subject.

It isn't like this information isn't available so it just needs to be displayed a little better for making comments and suggestions.

I hate to start reading a thread just to find its 2 years old. I think treads that are 6 month or more old should be locked.

If a Blue responds in a thread, I would like to see the response or responses go up to the top, maybe right under the OP.

Just use the Home key - does the same thing.

Agreed. I liked the old way where the FB#, country & store icon were all on the front page.

I'm not a prolific poster. I do read here most days, though. I jump in when I think I can help. Otherwise, I'm too busy, you know, actually SELLING.

Things that annoy me are people who think they have to personally reply to every post. A kudo is acknowledgement enough I think. Otherwise threads get bogged down with useless posts like emojis, thank yous, I agrees, etc. and the actual useful information is getting lost in all the noise.

I rarely report anyone. But, I've reported bad advice or false information that could actually hurt the questioning seller if they were to take said advice. The posts always stand. Plus, who in the world would kudo wrong information? I don't think I've ever seen bad or outdated policy quotes removed. These threads always evolve into policy and personal arguments, and the OP gets lost in the shuffle. That makes us all look bad.

Posters are allowed their own opinions. I'm all for that. Many have very strong opinions about any given thing here. I'm good with that, too. However, when any given poster wants to argue for the rightness of their own POV versus any other for 20 posts or more, I just roll my eyes and close the thread. It happens over and over and over.

We are all adults here. I don't need summaries, recaps or anything else like that. I have a brain. I can and do read carefully. Let me collect my own data and then draw my own conclusions. To me, it's as condescending as all get out.

I use a laptop and my husband connected a mouse to it.

I am also left handed and the home button is on the right side.

So I have to let go of the mouse and go across the keyboard to hit the home button.

First world problem for sure but it was just easier with the up button.
