Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

Thank you for helping us catch those bugs! While we did work hard to make sure we caught any issues before we released the new changes to the Community, there might be some issues that we didn’t catch. If you find any issues, please post them only here. The Community team will be actively monitoring this post and we’ll work as fast as we can to get them resolved. No need to @ mention us, if you post here.

 

Be sure to include links to the pages, screenshots, which browser you’re using and other relevant information you can share.

Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

The Soapbox, where we have ongoing discussions with many posters participating, has become unusable. There is no way to tell who has commented last, so no way to respond to them. Also, folks have "Home" threads there. They are dropping off the pages, and since we can't sort by recent posts, there is no way to tell if our posting friends have replied to us or asked us a question.

 

Is no one from the community team going to respond to me? Do you just want the folks who post there to go away? Because that is what is happening. 

 

Please? Anyone?

While I am logged on to eBay as somanypostcards, the Community -> Selling Profile, News, and Notifications all show my other eBay ID, somanypcs.  And when I just replied to a discussion, the reply shows my post was made by somanypcs.  These errors need fixing.

It has always been this way for me.  I would be signed into eBay in my selling acct (not this one) and I could do both...work on my selling acct and post with this acct at the same time.

 

It works for me.  🙂

That's pretty much how it is everywhere.  All the boards are a hot mess.

 

What got fixed?   I saw a post somewhere by an ebay rep that the board was being shut down temporarily so fixes could be put in place.  Did I dream this?  Of course I can't find the post now and I sure don't see what got fixed.

You didn’t dream it. They reset the boards to add fixes. I have no idea what was changed.

It still keeps logging me off even though I have keep me signed in checked off.

 

Check your account Site Preferences, and be sure you have checked the "Sign me in automatically to Community discussion areas" box at the bottom, and hit "Apply" if you make any changes.

If that does not help, you may need to delete your individual eBay cookies in your browser and try again.

 

If you use cleaner programs or have your browser set to automatically erase your cookies when you close your browser, you will have to sign in again each time you restart your browser or after you run your cleaner program.

On the Member to Member board, the option menu associated with each post seems to be lacking a "permalink" option which is available on other boards:

The permalink is very useful when you want to post a link to one particular post rather than to the entire thread.

 

In addition, the "Printer Friendly Page" link on that board and others seems to point back to the entire board rather than to the individual post or thread. And it is not actually printer friendly.

Just wanted to say the gray you have is so nice to see instead of the white here.

Thanks! I am experimenting with a Firefox plug-in called "Color Changer" to make the background and text a little darker black and gray, respectively. It makes the boards much easier to read, though there are some side effects; some buttons lose their color, the notification bell does not change color and notification icons no longer appear. Some images do not show unless the effect is disabled.

And this format has somanyproblems.  I'm a little nonplussed about a supposed hosting company not being able to connect the dots any better...are they not being given the correct information, similar to when the former boards were destroyed and Lithium was given (1) a 3-year-old database and (2) the 'community manager' or whatever he was here called HAD NEVER, EVER EVEN BEEN TO THE FORUMS BEFORE - so dawg knows what kind of information he was giving them.  Before I finally write them off as a lowest-bid deal, I'm wondering if (now named) Khoros is even being given coherent procedures.
