Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

Thank you for helping us catch those bugs! While we did work hard to make sure we caught any issues before we released the new changes to the Community, there might be some issues that we didn’t catch. If you find any issues, please post them only here. The Community team will be actively monitoring this post and we’ll work as fast as we can to get them resolved. No need to @ mention us, if you post here.

Be sure to include links to the pages, screenshots, which browser you’re using and other relevant information you can share.

Update as of 03/05: Thanks for your feedback! I'll be tracking updates here.

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

Posted this else where and see the post was removed instead of moved here. Sigh.

This text box is WAY too small and would like to see it expanded.  Too much wasted space on any screen.

Or am I missing the point, eBay wishes to encourage only short "sound bite" replies on the Community?  I think many topics require more than 130 character replies if education is the goal.

For those who wish loner entries, please increase the size of this text box!

Thanks!

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

This reminds me of the last "new and improved" community board.  It took a while to get it back to a usable form.  I can only imagine the designers were never users.

It's not user friendly to hide the poster names without opening the thread, not advance to last read post, not bring recently posted on threads to the top, not have a quote function, not to change the color of already read threads.

  2. Can no longer tell whether staff has responded to a post.

  3. No more quick look on avatars. Now have to click open a new window to see if poster is newbie or seasoned, and then from there, still have to click listings to see if they are posting on the correct site.

Oh, please don't make us fight this one again..........it took over 6 months to get it back once.........  We really need it.......or just very little point in Blues answering the threads.......few of us will ever know.

Literally EVERY online community has that function.

Wouldn't it be lovely to not have to see the rants and conspiracy theories over and over again? And the mods would probably have 50% less work to do cleaning up arguments.

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

Not sure if this is widespread or just a glitch, but I have noticed that I can see a picture when viewing a post preview on the board overview page, but when I open the individual post, I cannot see the picture.

For example, I see no picture on this post:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Technical-Issues/My-views-are-gone/td-p/31649641

But a picture appears when viewing the Technical Issues board:

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

This horrible mess is not what I would call "exciting" by any stretch of the imagination.

I hope ebay didn't pay much for these changes.

THIS ^^^^^^

Can we dispense with some of the graphics?  We really don't need  to see a photo posted to a thread on the outside.  Glad I have a drawer full of "mouse replacements".....new enhanced experience is going to wear out the scrolling wheel shortly.

Talk about scroll happy. Do we really have to scroll back to top to view all forum topics?

The links from the "new solutions" don't take you to that topic...........

Why is there no quote button?

Please fix that.

Re: Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

This is the single most idiotic change that I have ever seen here on the community boards.

Having made no changes to my view/resolution/screen settings I now have gone from the old view showing 10-12 member issues that have been posted to choose from to barely 2.   Then when going to a thread I can see 1-1/2 replies with so much wasted useless white space that it makes the whole thing ......................  well, I just can't say what a mess it is.................................

@shipscript  I'm guessing possibly related to this - sorting by "latest post date" doesn't seem to work at all for me.

Just posted this https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/February-Seller-Check-In-Spring-Seller-Update-Highlights-News/...

But that thread still appears on page 3 of the Seller section for me instead of page 1 where it should be based on that most recent reply.

I  tried switching to "sort by topic start date" and then back to "sort by latest post date" and it still doesn't work.
