I'm curious if there is a limit to the number of Posting IDs one can have here on The Community?

I don’t think there’s a limit - as many as user IDs.
Hard to keep straight, though. I used to have 2 IDs because I had 2 demographics I was marketing to. I didn’t even mean to post with the second, but I kept forgetting to switch.

Thanks ... that makes sense ... I think though for eBay User IDs there is a limit to 8 per PayPal account from a selling standpoint (maybe Buying too, I don't know).

I'm also curious to know like you. Thanks to the questioner and the person who answered this question.

AFAIK there are no rules about posting with multiple ids as long as they do not interact. Like for instance if a poster is getting negative comments, they use a different id to make fake support posts. Another situation I've seen is that a poster uses multiple ids to attack another poster.

@the*dog*ate*my*tablecloth My sincere thanks for that information ...

It depends on how many personalities you have.

...or give themselves kudos.

The two different IDs I have posted with don't even agree with each other.

What dog said. You also can't use one ID to support another in an argument (for want of a better word) on a thread, or to give helpfuls to your own IDs.

Is that written somewhere in the community guidelines, or is it "board knowledge" acquired from experience? Not YOU doing it, of course, but maybe observing others?
I know the giving helpfuls part is in the rules, but I couldn't find anything about posting supporting comments.

If there is a rule, is anyone monitoring it?

I just ended up with 2 because I forgot my first password and had to sign up again.
