I'm curious if there is a limit to the number of Posting IDs one can have here on The Community?

@lacemaker3 Good post, my preference would be for both Upper and Lower case letters to be displayed, not just lower case ... but that's just me ...

Yes I remember her. I also remember a few choice names I was called by certain people. But you know I loved every minute on the FB board. Oh, we had so much fun.
I've never wanted that symbol next to my name but madison has been taken.

Yes, it was a regular spasm of giddy fun.

The only restriction that I'm aware of, doesn't apply to all members, just Community Mentors.
If someone has multiple IDs, then only one of the IDs can become a Community Mentor.
Aside from that, any eBay account can be used to post in the community, and I believe you can have as many eBay accounts as you have email addresses.

as far as i know, ebay still does not use mac id nrs. yet that is the simplest way to track users, systems and abusers. ip nrs are easily changed and manipulated and ALL good coders know this. but none of the ipn schemes hide or can change mac id numbers.
However, you have a digital fingerprint, cobbled together from your unique collection of version numbers, your screen resolution, and many more indicators, that can identify you regardless which browser, IP address, etc. you escape.

Hi @mr_lincoln,
Just to confirm - we've no rule in place re the number of accounts allowed. Users may run into moderation issues if they use multiple accounts to post and harass others or abuse helpfuls etc. We recommend using 1 account so that your posting history is viewable to all, which helps to build trust amongst members of the Community.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks.

Alan, thanks for the reply ... one of the reasons I asked this particular question was because of so many recent NEW IDs here from Vietnam asking very basic questions over and over ... it was almost like one or two people were creating new IDs each time they "signed" in (not knowing that's not necessary). Anyway, I finally created a thread asking about that country and if there was a specific domain and where to send these folks (or person) so they could get help locally ... so that part was answered ...
I agree with the 1 ID approach 100% ...

GR:
If you click ignore on private messages, what does it say on their end? Also, will that stop all their id’s?

The ignored user isn't notified that they've been ignored. It won't stop multiple IDs, you'll have to ignore each ID.
Thanks.
