Hi @readabouthorses the Add This add on is what the Community uses for social sharing. I haven't seen any issues with this causing slowness for users, but can look into it. We've had some slowness issues lately but speed overall seems to be improved and Alan and I made some changes last week that helped with load speed.
To be honest, I suspect your internet connection likely has to do with the Community slowness: "Since my DSL connection is majorly pathetic with speeds of 2.60 Mbps up and 0.41 Mbps down so it doesn't take much to stall it out and slow it down." Computer issues can also contribute to website slowness as well.
Have you restarted your router? I'd also suggest trying different browsers.
Thanks for helping @coffeebean832.

Boards are always slow for me because of that AddThis thing that is attached to that Share blue button. Is there a way to disable that Share button as I would never in a thousand years need to use it. That might make AddThis go away?
I'm using the desktop version on a Windows 10 machine w/ Chrome browser. Are you using the mobile app? I ask because I don't see anything about "AddThis" or a "Share blue button."
Computer, Windows 10, using Firefox. Don't have a mobile device so I don't know what would be seen on the app.
Up at the top of every thread, over on the right hand side next to the first post just under the options there is a big blue button to bookmark and next to that a blue button to share. If you hover over the share button it shows all sorts of social media stuff like Facebook, etc and at the bottom of that box is a plus sign with the words AddThis. With every thread that I open I can see that it is stalling out, waiting on addthis.com. Since my DSL connection is majorly pathetic with speeds of 2.60 Mbps up and 0.41 Mbps down so it doesn't take much to stall it out and slow it down.

I think it is a combination of my slow DSL and AddThis sticking its nose into the mix. I can see down in the lower left corner when it is "waiting" for addthis.com. Then it is waiting waiting waiting and then it finally brings up what I clicked on.
Yes, my router has been restarted. Yes I clear my cache and cookies.
Only other browsers I have are Internet Explorer (which is ancient and never used) and Edge which I can try to see if it makes a difference. Currently using latest version of Firefox. Don't have Chrome and prefer not to download it.
Since I'm never ever going to share anything from these boards it would be nice to have a way to just turn off all of that stuff. As it is I have to turn off Signatures and turn off leaving Helpfuls to try to speed up the process.

I don't see Add This- I wonder if that's because I use an ad blocker?
readabouthorses- do you use an ad blocker? I know it's another program running in the background, however before I started using it I had trouble loading a lot of eBay pages because of the ads. Once I installed Ad Block Plus I was able to use eBay without my browser freezing on me.
A slow internet connection is a great reason to use an ad blocker and try to get sites to load more quickly.

Yes, I use AddBlock Plus. I would not even be able to do anything online if I didn't block all the ads. I can't even look at the website of one of my local TV stations because I either have to allow all their ads or pay them a fee. There are some of the media websites that block me as well unless I would agree to allow their ads. It is sort of funny because if I allowed their ads then I wouldn't be able to see their website because it would never load. LOL

I know exactly what you're referring to! Sorry it couldn't fix this situation for you.

For me, the boards are still slow! Actually slower now.
I'm sure I jinxed it- pages are once again taking between 10-30 seconds to load. 😞

Thanks @coffeebean832. We're keeping an eye on site speed. If you see any other users reporting slowness, send them here.

Your name looks familiar; haven't you possibly seen me banging on other Boards --- about this exact same issue? I coincidentally, now found this issue here. For Me, I've already spoken of it, since last week.
