new messaging system, what are your thoughts?

with this new system idk about any one else but for some reason all my messages are visible from my "inbox" i usually "archive" old messages as we sell a lot of material from our shop so i don't want to delete the messages entirely in case something were to come up where i would need to review old messages.  however i don't want the messages clogging up my "inbox" so that new messages are very visible and  i wont miss them.  and i tend to keep relevelant messages until the buyer as received their items before archiving them 

also the text appears to be significantly smaller and the "avatars" are unneeded clutter  the icons for mark unread trash .. etc also appear to be significantly small  

overall i 100% hate the new messaging system , thankfully there is a "switch back to classic view"

i don't understand the "lets fix stuff that's not broken" mentality that eBay seems to have

thankfully when i went back to the "classic view" everything was back where it belonged in the "archive" where i prefer them to be unless their actively chatting with me about an item or they are a regular buyer and i like to keep one on hand to reply with a link to any new listings that may interest them of mine

The old messaging system worked REALLY WELL ! It was very handy & easily accessible.

I'm sure we will hear from eBay during the eBay Open event.  They might say sellers love the changes and this was a great thing for sellers.

I still haven't opted in yet to the new system.  I wanted to see what everyone else was running into before doing it.  Looks like I will wait until they force me to.  I appreciate everyone who has chimed in on this thread.  At least I know a little more about what is coming my way soon.  I guess I'll keep reading posts so I'm ready when it does change for good.  I don't want my messages to dissapear yet. It would make dealing with regular customers harder if I don't remember what they messaged about in the past.

The absolute worst. It takes away a universally recognizable email font, which is what eBay messenger effectively is, and replaces it with some crude version of a text thread. I'm on a PC, not a phone, and that is very much so on purpose. If I wanted to eBay via the phone text thread, I wouldn't be on eBay at all. It makes problem solving that much more difficult as I now need to solve the problem of the new messaging system. Why does the top message automatically open when you open the message system? Seems like we are being bullied into answering all new incoming messages immediately as if we are all now obligated to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Hopefully eBay didn't spend millions on this awful new system, because its going to cost them money in lost sales.

Looks like BETA version is over. We're stuck with this garbage now.

Had to "upgrade" the experience for Millennials and Gen Z, because they only know how to operate a phone. So, make it look like text messages.

I don't operate eBay from my phone, and most of the time, I never even check my messages in ebay, unless they require a response. Now I get to deal with this dog dung.

Good luck getting eBay to respond to your comments. Waste of time
