since getting a negative feedback have your sales went down? Since receiving a negative feedback I have not been able to send offer, gotten any sales and my total clicks/views have gone down

The buyer really didn't need to jump to neg feedback quite so fast, but the typing sample does not look good - as someone said above, in one the letters are stacked - did you try sentences then paragraphs? One or two words isn't an adequate test, and these little personal machines (I know a lot about Canon typewriters because I used them in the 80s when I was a copy editor) were kind of hunt and peck chintzy.

It worked and I did type a sentence maybe I should have wrote a novel.
bottom line, I truly don’t believe the buyer was looking for a typewriter. I did see other listing brand new sealed for cheaper on eBay and other site. Why not opt for those?
I have heard of people who are literally out to get new eBay sellers aka their competitions. Given the buyers track record and feedback (most from the same vendor) oh and I shipped to a PO Box. Is shipping to a P.O. Box mean anyhjng for anyone on here?
who knows what the motive was. I just wish he gave me a chance

P O Box?....did it say that on the address?
There is 'freight forward' where the buyer has letters and numbers after their name...which is 'freight forward'.
Just a thought here.

I would honor the return if they filed it, but who knows if you'll get it back as you don't accept returns. New sellers take note: eBay offers a 30 day money back guarantee to all buyers for what ever reason. Send them a return label and hopefully they'll return it, but remember since you don't accept returns, they are not obligated to return the item. Lesson learned. Change your return policy before you get hurt again.
Happy Selling

I just looked at several of your listings and most that don't accept returns. Again, change it before you run into another problem like this one.
Good luck.

I will most definitely be fixing that. Hopefully I’ll get to it tonight

I accepted the return, and paid and sent them a return label.
so you’re telling me that, if they don’t send the item back… they will get to keep it, get the refund, and I’ll still be stuck with a negative review and no item or compensation for the item?

If a buyer files a not as described return, your no return policy means nothing. If you want the item back, you must provide the return label—as you did. They must return before you are required to refund. Had you not wanted to pay for the return, you could have just refunded. A no return policy only applies to remorse returns.
Selling and shipping older electronics is almost always a risk. I know.

You’re most likely already stuck with the negative feedback unless you’re able to convince the buyer themselves to revise it. But if the buyer fails to return the item back within the given time period, I believe eBay will not force you to refund the buyer. I said “I believe” because I’m not sure how it works if you originally had it set to “no returns accepted”.

**That I agree with! Some people just throw tantrums when something doesn't go their way, but it's better if they give the seller a chance to remedy the situation.
I doubt anyone was out to get you, though - there are so many "theories" about why something happens floating around here, most of them rubbish. You did get a hasty buyer, though.
As for PO boxes - that's just another, actually safer, way to have mail delivered.
Anyway, a couple of paragraphs would be needed because machines of that age, particularly in storage, can develop strange problems and they need to put through a thorough check. Even mechanical ones do. I know that horse is out of the stable now, but if it ever comes up again.

@cheh-4 wrote:It was refurbished and i disclosed that.
I tested it via cord and it works and types. I tested it because it’s been In storage for a while and I wanted to make sure it worked before I sold it to anyone. It worked no issues, and I even typed out my name using it and I have time stamped photos. He claims “ it does not type”. And instead of asking me of how it works, he jumped to leave me a negative review within hours of receiving the item
The condition on this listing was New (Open Box) not refurbished.
That is without any other cause, a reason for Not As Described. Even if it was refurbished.
The buyer would not have to make up any other story if cheating you was his intent.

It did not give me the option to list as refurbished that’s why included it in the listing. And his problem wasn’t with it being refurbished or not. He said specifically that “it didn’t type” when i specifically added pictures of it “typing”
which i have a video of, but eBay won’t let me add videos to my listings.
again im new here so im trying to figure this out.
The buyer knew what he was getting prior to purchasing and Included photographs.
anywho, I hope you do not encounter this type of buyer.

Only the buyer didn’t get what he purchased—a functioning typewriter!!!
You have maligned this buyer—questioned their motives, accused them of being up to no good, and all but called them out as a liar.
You mentioned several times that you are a new seller. This forum is populated with smart, successful, long-term sellers, whose collective aim has been to help you with this issue. Yet you seem resistant to their points of view.

@cheh-4 wrote:They contacted me and opened a claim. It was working. Unless it got ruined in transit, but what are the odds? Let’s be real.
what would be the point as a new seller who is trying to make a living lie and send out a broken item?
Have you ever seen how some carrier handle packages?? It could have easily happened in transit. And that is real.
I once received a package for something I ordered and it literally had tire tracks on the package.

@cheh-4 wrote:I asked the representative because the buyers feedback seemed shady. He had all positive reviews from the same vendor. So I asked her to look into the buyer. 3 out of 6 open claims seems like the issue is the buyer not the seller. And she said also mentioned he had a history of claims.
My views have and orders have went down drastically since all of this. I have not been able to send offers since either. No orders in days.I spoke with a representative and she advised me to send a return label and accept a return, which I did. The buyer just has not shipped it back yet. She said they will most likely remove the feedback, which they have not yet done.
like I mentioned before, if the machine didn’t work, as he claims, just send it back. He jumped to leave a negative feedback and not give me chance. And it’s been a week and he has not responded to me since or sent back the item.
I am a new seller and didn’t really know about the return policy. All my new listing I accept returns.
I am very concerned by what you are saying here. It is against the Ebay rules for ANY employee of Ebay to give out private account information. And the info about claims filed by the buyer is Private account information.
Buyers can only receive positive feedback, so clearly they purchased from that one seller a few times. I do that sometimes. I have some sellers I like to buy certain things from. You are trying to read far more into that than is real.
Did you happen to read the link I gave you earlier on How to process a Request for Return. You really should as it would educate you on this process and what to expect instead of guessing what might happen next.
If the buyer does not ship the item back to you, then in a few weeks Ebay will close the claim in your favor and they will auto remove the feedback they left.
One of the most dangerous things a new seller can do is assume they know how to handle something when they never even bother to learn the basic rules of selling on Ebay. I have seen more new seller get themselves into trouble doing this. Somehow they thing they can just start selling on Ebay and wing the rest. Not bothering to even learn the basics. As you see that really doesn't turn out very well for the seller.
