How to get funds released

How do I get my funds released when I listed an item, which sold right away, after the sale was processed, I determined the buyer lived a few miles away from me.  The buyer picked up the item and I refunded the postage which was charged to her.  I have not received the remaining funds being held by EBay.  Help!

Does eBay know you received cash?

It has to be documented in 'the' sale as cash payment...'pick up'...which was not listed as 'pick up'?

You did nothing wrong but maybe forgot to let eBay know how item got paid.

I'm reading this to be "OP got paid through eBay Managed payments", buyer picked up item. Seller refunded postage (unclear if that's cash in hand or through eBay managed payments). eBay is holding the payment even though the item was picked up.

That's what I was thinking until I read the second post. I've done the exact same thing before and Ebay never held my funds.

I think the funds are on hold because they are a new seller.

If that's the reason, I think is 21 days.

My funds are rarely ever put on hold either, if someone were to come and pick up their item there would be no hold to release, it wouldn't matter if I shipped with tracking, without tracking or hand delivered... no holds.

Did you enter the code given to the buyer into the sale??  That is the proof that they picked it up.....

If you are a new or infrequent seller, your funds can be held up to 14 days or longer to make sure the transaction was successful for the buyer as well as yourself.

This only works if you listed the item with "Local pickup" as a shipping option.

I only refunded the postage.  The funds for the sale remain with EBay.

It’s a very bad idea to do what you did. As it is, you have no way to prove the item has been delivered. 
Had local pickup been offered and a buyer chooses that, they are given a code to give to the seller when they meet. That number is connected to the transaction and it shows eBay ‘delivery’. 
The tracking number when an item ships is how this transaction was set up. 

Once the buyer can no longer claim through the MBG, eBay will release your money. 

You may also get a ding for late shipping. Others may clarify that.

Not a "new" seller but they have only received one feedback from a buyer in the past year (or more) so they fall into the category of "infrequent".

Then unfortunately there is no way to get your funds released any sooner as eBay has no way of knowing that you delivered the item to the buyer AND you have no proof of doing so.
