iems i list do NOT show up when i SEARCH for them ---- WHY ????

this has happened FOUR times IN A ROW for me over the last 2 months...

am i being penilized by ebay because i DON'T OFFER -- FREE SHIPPING ?????

because i DON'T OFFER --- FREE RETURNS  ?????? because i DON'T PAY EXTRA

$$$$$$  FOR A STORE ???????   ----- this time i listed with FREE SHIPPING - but

still my items do not show up...  i have talked to 6 or 7 ebay people, but actually 3 because

the others i could NOT UNDERSTAND ......

i have been with ebay since -- 2005 or earlier ----- NEVER HAD this problem

I think it can depend on the category. Looking to move house within 3-6 months, so using the opportunity to clear out some stuff. Have collected quite a bit of firearm related stuff over the years (reloading dies, scope rings and mounts, grips, all 'ebay permitted' stuff). Those always take 24 hours, practically to the minute, to 'show up'. Other items like books, an Amiga 500 mini, shows up in minutes. 

Not a pro seller at all, literally just clearing out stuff, so its a small sample (I've listed 53  items so far over the last month and sold 37), but that is the pattern I have seen,

Ok; I am 'looking' at your listings and TRYING to figure out how I would search for them; Your listings are WAY confusing.

Don't put the # of items at the beginning of a listing

WHAT are you selling (can't tell; very confusing). 

HOW in the WORLD would anyone search for your items???

I'm not asking for the item number so I can search for it by item number.

I want to look at the listing and search for it by key words.

When I list gun related paper items my items do not go live immediately, they take about 24 hours before they are live.

I would think your items with police or marshal or similar terms in the title might hit the same delays, since there are items which are prohibited which use those words in the title - like badges.

The first four words in your title are the ones the phone buyer sees. And over half of customers are buying on their phones.

A quick look at your Titles shows you wasting those four words on"antique" "Bronze" "capone"  or numbers 2/3 Three/25 etc.

Instead of Key /Handcuffs /Photos /Belt Buckle.

All 82 of your Title keystrokes will be used in Search, so they make the algorithm happy, but the customer is not necessarily seeing  what it is you are selling.

To the OP:  This is an occasional slip-up that happens here on the boards:  a "response" addressed to somebody that refers to a post by somebody else.  

Your listings all show that you are in a Northern California community. 

Poster "t_treasures1" is in Australia. 

Please try to shrug off this human error.  Let it go.  You have already used enough exclamation points and question marks.

No it doesn't. I routinely get views and watchers on things less than half an hour after putting them up.

It can take up to 24 hours for a new listing to show up when you do a search for the item.  It is in our User Agreement as well.  There are many sellers that it takes a few hours for the item to show up and then others it doesn't take very long at all.  It may very well be because of when the Index the site.  You may get in there just before they reindex and others may have to wait a few hours.  IDK, but the 24 hour thing is real for many.

I did an abbreviated search for one of you items

"ORIG antique CUMMINGS marshal lawman prison restraint handcuffs leg irons KEY" 

using a simple search of "cummings key" and out of 679 items yours is #6 on the list.

That is not bad placement for your item.

eBay intentionally doesn't show your own items in search many times, because why would they expect you want to see your own items when searching?  Instead, try searching from a private browsing window or better yet an entirely different device and you'll usually find your items.
