how can I list 10,000 items?

with my basic store subscription I get 1000 listings and an additional 10000 listings in certain categories. what is the trick or procedure to get to 10000 listings? I would like that but it just doesn't seem possible. I have saved sellers which I noticed have over 10000 listings and some even have 100000 listings. how do you do that?

Over years you start at 1 and you keep listing everyday.

As you sell that number goes down so you need to list more than you sell to keep going up.

Your in luck though lately sales been bad for some so you can list more than you can sell. JK. lol

You can have more than 1000 listings with a basic store subscription.  The subscription just gives you 1000 "free" listings ... you pay 25 cents for each listing above 1000.

Alternatively, you can subscribe to the Premium Store, which gives you 10,000 free listings a month.

There is no trick.  You said you already have the Basic Store, so if you are listing in the categories listed below, you have the additional 10,000 already.  You don't need to do anything other than just list in those categories.

Also, you can see this info on your Seller Hub page: https://www.ebay.com/sh/ovw in the Promotional Offers section.  This way you can see what is counting against the 10,000 listings.

thanks i know about the additional 10000 fixed price. but how can you actually list 10000? i have more than 10000 sports cards and 10000 stamps and 10000 postcards and 10000 other collectibles but i can never seem to be able to list that many. the most i have ever listed was 3000 but that took alot of very long days. i am trying to learn the secret to getting alot listed.

By listing more than you sell.

@lloydsteventaylor  I think what you are asking is: If I have sufficient inventory, how do I list it most efficiently?

Find a process that works for you. Many sellers find batching tasks saves time. If you have 50 shirts to list, measure and take photos of all 50 first, then list them, rather than doing photos and measurements and list one, then the next one, etc.

Listing like items can save time by developing templates that you can use over and over.

Some sellers like using "sell similar" to save time.

It all depends on what you sell and which process works best for you.

When listing similar items, I can list about 50 items/hour without any special tools.

wow 50 /hour would be 50 x 8 hours x 5 days a week x 50 weeks would be 100000!  so that's how you can do it. so now I have to figure out how to do 50/hr every day. sounds like a plan.

Are you asking how / where to find inventory to list 1,000 - 10,000 items?  Some, but not all, of those sellers are selling from a product catalog provided by the manufacturer or wholesaler. Drop shipping where the seller doesn't handle the merchandise only sells it.  Some sellers own all of their inventory, warehouse it and ship it as it sells.

Are you asking how much time it takes to list that volume of merchandise? That depends on how much help or how many employees you have. Listing takes a lot of time, focusing on accurately listing product details and quite frankly can be a boring job.

And the question is not: How can I list 10,000 items?
The question is: How can I list 10,000 items in X time?

I've only seen a few people that can list 50 "used and different" items a day. 
And that was 10 years ago. AND, they had extensive knowledge of the items they were listing.
With all the extra pics needed now, and all the extra things/info that eBay wants to fill in?  I'm not sure 50 a day is still possible if done correctly.
And if not done real close to correctly, you're probably just wasting your time.

Well, you are spending most of your time setting the domino fall up.

Sourcing similar items, doing your research ahead of time, having photos cropped and ready to upload.

...but if you don't have to change item specifics you can grind them out right quick with all the heavy lifting already done.

For every hour of monotonous drone work I burn I need at least 1 beer at the end of the day.

Personally, I don't want to list 10,000 items, especially ones that sell for $2.66. I have better things to do with my time.

I want to sell a small number of items that return an obscene profit, & sell for a minimum of $20.

Selling for $200 & an obscene profit is even better.
