Did anyone else get this email (not in eBay messages) from eBay?
Does it look legitimate to you?

Hello @mcdougle4248. We just wanted to let you know this is a valid email.

Yes, I think it's legitimate. I do the surveys they send, not the Zooms, so I didn't get the gift card, but they do send the surveys every now and again.

would need to see the headers...
but the domain appears to have no relation to ebay, so it 'may' be an independent poll type site.

I did not but it appears fishy to me.
The English is suspect.
"Im outreaching" and "giftcard in $40 USD"
I dont think eBay pays for feedback.
Also if something shows up in my email I also have a message and it is never to an employee. Usually it is a general department.

If it's not in your messages or in Announcements I wouldn't trust it.
What is the url in the email?
The url in the link to reply to is calendly.com and I don't think that's eBay either.

This is all I see without clicking on one of the links

I get a lot of emails from Ebay that don't show up in messages.

Yes, I also get emails from eBay that are not in messages. The only survey-type messages I receive in my email exclusively are from eBay Expressions, and I know those are legitimate.

@squinkercat59 r u referring to what this email says 'ebay insights' or do u mean 'ebay expressions'?
i participate in 'ebay expressions' but never heard of an 'ebay insights' program.

Hi, a few months back, another poster had a nearly identical letter. His turned out to be legit. eBay paired up with an outside pollster. Looking for the link now.

Here is the forum discussion i mentioned, about a similar survey from a thread in July. It does not appear to be the same sender of the one you received. I also found another similar thread from 2023. Both links, see below. (For what it’s worth—maybe not much! It just confirms the possibility of your email being legit.)

@mcdougle4248 definitely understand being cautious with these. In addition to the info others have provided here about other similar offers they received, I did a little LinkedIn digging and can confirm that person does appear to be an eBay employee, new hire within the last few months in the Product Marketing Insights team....don't hold me to anything of course, but hope that helps. 😉

The "outreaching" grammar raised a flag with me when I read it. I would just send it to ebay spoof and let them sort it out.
I would also point out in the email to ebay that if it is legit, I wouldn't choose to continue business with a person with such bad grammar in a professional setting. Yes, I just said that.
