A few days ago I sold a few Craftsman wrenches, could not find them, checked my records and saw they were sold about 6 months ago. Somehow (although eBay denies it) they re-listed them. Makes me look bad as a seller when I have to explain that I do not the product they purchased. Seems the bogus listings have come from GOOD TO CANCELED listings. Suggestions???

A couple of weeks ago I noticed that all the sales I made for a particular day were relisted. Not sure how that happened, but I always hear of this happening. There is no way I went into solds and relisted all 3 items. Luckily, I caught it.

I've previously encountered this issue numerous times. If it's what I think it is, there's a quick fix.
Even though your listings are not multi quantity, somehow, Ebay's feature, "Multi-Quantity Listings: Stay Active When You're Out of Stock" gets turned on. As I mentioned, not only does it randomly turn on, but it applies to all listings, multi-quantity or not.
This is why you see your previous solds in groups and active again. The tool glitches on and applies to that group of items sold within that time frame. Its never glitched off, instead I've had to manually turn it off on each occasion.

I just had this happen last week on one item. The buyer was gracious and did not ding me for out of stock. There is some truth to the OP's statement as others have had this rarity happen. Interesting situations, maybe the OP talks to Ebay Facebook business as an option.

It's been going on for years, but they don't think there's a problem.
Ya gotta keep an eye on your listings.

I just had the same thing happen with a sale on Sunday. Item was actually sold Aug 31 and USPS confirmed delivery on July 7. So why did eBay decide to list it again? Thankfully this time I had a very nice buyer who declined my offer to send her a different item and asked me to just cancel the sale.
On the other hand, this past week I discovered several ghosted listings. All were active multi quantity listings with recent sales. Up to date with the latest eBay requirements. Absolutely no reason why eBay ended them. Only found out when a return buyer asked if I was going to list more of what she purchased. That listing had a quantity of 5 available when eBay poofed it. Since then I have found more active listings that were ghosted. Way to run a business ebay.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen.
I'm just saying it doesn't happen to everyone.
20+ years of selling here and I've never had it happen to me.
Just lucky I guess.

@from_me_2_you did u, do u, have the OOS option engaged?

If you have the OOS option on all listings stay active in sellers hub when the quantity is zero. But buyers cannot see or purchase those listings as there is no stock. I've used OOS for years have never had the quantity change from 0 unless I changed it myself.

The problem I've found is that they *don't* show up in my listings. If they did, I could catch them, but they show up on the site. It's why I think it's due to a database event.
