Now buyers have 45 days after the seller sends them the return label to ship it back.
This change is retroactive and affects all open return cases.
The change must be very recent since I have noted the date we need to call eBay for a particular return and the date got extended by 30 days.
Is this in the 2021 Fall Seller Update? I must have missed that part.

They have 45 days to return a item to us .... then we need to refund within 2 days?
Seems a little unfair.

Unbelievable. I would not be surprised if they some time in the not so distant future lets buyers fondle the items before paying at all.

We should all be thankful that their IT department is not controlling the nuclear weapons systems.

Thanks for the clarification.
I would not be surprised if they went to 30 at some point.
Though it costs eBay money in refunded FVF's if returns are completed. Probably why eBay is still at 15.

YES. It's maddening! I have a return that was requested on a new watch that the buyer received on 9/1. She immediately filed a return saying it wasn't working. I explained that it was a NEW watch in the box and they aren't running until you set them. Never heard from her again. She received my return postage paid by me on 9/1 and the note said she had to 9/16 to return. Now it says 10/15. I'm sure she's wearing watch. No reason to extend time for buyer to stick into mailbox with postage paid.
2nd case. Just today. Buyer bought a new in the box Tempurpedic pillow. Has been using it 10 days. Now, wants to return because " it's not as comfortable as he had hoped." I can't do anything with a used pillow. So, I must refund in full and let him keep it? Why would I pay postage back to me for it?
Buyers are finding new ways to steal.

Because we are all still here. 😁

Actually the longer eBay can stretch this out the better it is for them. The buyer has already paid and eBay will have the funds on hold. They are earning interest on those funds every day that they hold them.

So are we talking international sales?
That is what I gather reading comments.

Ebay has stated several times that they do not earn interest on held funds.
