eBay is outdated, not user friendly, and does not stand by its own rules

eBay’s rules very clearly state if a return is initiated but the buyer doesn’t return the item in 15 days the return will be closed and the seller will be protected from any negative feedback. Yet that’s EXACTLY what happened to me and somehow my request to get the feedback removed was denied. So essentially they’re giving power to buyers to buy items then give bad/untrue reviews in hopes you will give them a discount or refund while they keep your item. With Amazon, Temu, and tik tok being more seller friendly it’s time to move on completely away from eBay. Worst site to sell on I’ve actually never been more excited for a company to go out of business

Yes. All he kept trying to tell me is that one negative review won’t hurt my chances of becoming a top seller so I shouldn’t worry. He kept repeating that like a broken record. He knew nothing about any policies stated around the manner and said that the department for feedback cannot be contacted directly

Re: eBay is outdated, not user friendly, and does not stand by its own rules

I'm a bit confused- you bought an item and sold it on the same day (or so) it was delivered to you?

Your description says nothing- nothing about nothing, including the 'outer plastic' being torn by manufacture as well as you used stock photos and not a picture of the actual item you were selling/shipping.

Anyway, whatever 'rep' you spoke to (if you spoke on the phone) are 3rd party 'reps' that have NO power to do anything- to get feedback removed for seller protections you need to go here:

Re: eBay is outdated, not user friendly, and does not stand by its own rules

You hit the nail on the head when you said "I have 100% positive reviews clearly I’m not on here scamming ppl she used that as her attempt to scam me into giving her a discount or refund while keeping the pillow by writing a negative review."

I have said here repeatedly that a 99+% score is better than a 100%, because 100 makes you a target for partial refund scammers.   Also there are buyers (commenting in the Buyers forum for example) who don't trust sellers with a long history and 100% -backwards as that sounds, what some of them believe is that there is no way a seller could have so many sales with no negatives, unless they are getting special treatment from eBay and so if something goes wrong with their order, the seller would just get away with it.

This buyer's rather hysterical comment is nicely contrasted by your reply, which should make very clear to anyone reading what really happened there.  And now you won't have a big red bullseye for another scammer to aim for, for a whole year.  Rejoice!  I'm jealous because my 1 neg fell off last month and -this is not a joke or exaggeration -the VERY NEXT DAY I got a buyer writing to complain and specifically asking for a partial refund.  And I hadn't had that the whole past year.

EDIT: Ouch, I didn't realize before I wrote this post how much harm that one neg did you -85.7% is no bueno.  I would strongly recommend you report that buyer so it is on the record, THEN contact eBay For Business on Facebook.   -That's who would most likely remove the neg for you. But it is very important to get the buyer's abuse on the record first.

If you were really that  “successful” eBay wouldn’t be your premier selling platform and you’re business’ survival wouldn’t depend on the success of this platform. That’s a pretty weak business foundation as is seeing as though it is likely to go out of business sooner than later with its inability to keep up with the completion. So seeing as though you’re the one who’s livelihood seemingly depends on eBay maybe you should be more concerned with helping them get better rather than helping them to lose another seller which only furthers their (and your) way out the door. See how you thought you were smart, but in actuality every time you point your finger to tell someone else what to do 3 point back at you to remind you of what you need to do? Not so smart after all 🫠

@fourthfashions   WOW! How did u know so much about me, that eBay is my only selling platform and that my livelihood depends on eBay. Quite the psychic u r LOL

43 feedbacks as a seller since 2009, yea, that's pretty sad, i agree u need to go elsewhere

As a reminder, since eBay is so awful, don't forget to end your listings and close your EBAY account LOL

Yes the fact you’re here commenting on MY thread defending a platform you don’t own it’s quite apparent that you need them for your survival. I on the other hand only sell things on here when I can’t fit it or it’s not what I ordered. See the difference? I don’t need eBay to survive. Even if I deleted all my listings my bills wouldn’t be affected. Clearly yours would and what a pathetic existence that must be..hence why you’re here..and clearly so worried..commenting on something nobody asked you to read more or less comment on. So what is also apparent…is your desperate need to get a life 🤡🤣

BTW you still have 40+ items listed on this terrible platform.

If you didn't want anyone to read or comment, why post it on a member discussion forum?

Re: eBay is outdated, not user friendly, and does not stand by its own rules

If I had a quarter for every time a poster has predicted the demise of Ebay simply because they have some beef with the site I'd have a great retirement fund going for me.

Ebay is a multi billion dollar corporation.  They are going to be fine, at least for now there is no risk of them shutting down.  Ebay is almost 30 years old.

There is also no shame in only selling on Ebay.  I typically don't advise that, but still nothing wrong with it.  Millions of sellers do just fine only selling on Ebay.  I usually recommend selling on multiple sites.

Because you dislike Ebay for all the reasons you may have and very well may be legit reasons, that doesn't mean everyone else has to see things the same way you do.  You need to do what is right for you and others need to do what is right for them.  Smart business people know this.

While not nice, it isn't a threat or extortion.  It is actually true, but still not nice nor is it dealing with you in good faith.

You did misunderstand it.  I was polite, you not so much.  There is a difference between 15 days and 15 Business days.  They are not the same thing and that simply is a fact.

You want me to take my sweet time and delete them all?! Like that sounded a lot smarter in your head than it does out loud I’m sure 🫠
