That is not likely to work since the more sellers drop out, new sellers drop in. eBay will have their pound of flesh no matter what. When I price things, I usually include all my costs of selling, including increases in seller fees. If you are not able to handle the delays in payment, I suggest you take out a small loan to cover your costs, or raise your prices. No two ways about it.

It is because so many posters talk like Manage Payments is something new to the industry and Ebay is the only one doing it.  The fact is of the bigger sites, Ebay is the LAST site to adopt it.  The other similar sites have done it for years.

MP does NOT increase selling fees for most sellers.  Sellers taking hits in fees are those moving in from Micro Payments program in PP and those that were in MP from the beginning or thereabouts.

Re: disgusted with eBay

Some sellers remember the days of certain store categories being a 4% FVF like Video Game consoles and fee caps at or around $50 per listing. We also remember 20% TRS discounts. We also remember days before phrases like "high dispute surcharge". Promoted listings, $6 subtitles, and whatever other nickel and dime scheme of the week.

Yes with semantics you can say we are paying slightly less with MP than with PayPal circa 6months-year ago. But we as sellers are all paying more now than at almost any other point in eBay's existence. Factor in the rise in costs of goods and shipping and it's very lean.

For some it works, and for others it doesn't. But let's not compare today to yesterday and forget about the last 20 years either.

Some of us remember the days that gas was $1.25 per gallon or milk was less than half the price it is now.  Or etc. etc. etc.  Over the years prices have gone up on endless things and services.  It is the nature of the business really.

Yes, I tend to deal with the here and now.  Comparing pricing on things I need to have or use today verses what they were 10, 20, 30 years ago serve no purpose except to raise my anxiety level or blood pressure.  It sure isn't going to help me deal with what is currently happening in my business or life.

So yes, I compare what is going on with the rules and costs of MP to what I was paying in Ebay and PP just before going into MP.  It is the only thing that actually matters.  Trying to compare it to something from years ago will not help me now in the transition or in the decision to move forward with Ebay or not.  Nor will it help anyone else with that decision.

It is NOT "semantics" that most sellers will pay slightly less in fees for MP.  You want to compare it to 5 or 10+ years ago, if for you that somehow helps  you, IDK, but certainly if you feel the need then do it.  To me you are only confusing the issue and it has no real impact on the current rules for MP.

You speak for yourself about your fees.  My overall fees have been very stable for a few years now.  They fluctuate up when my sales are up of course.  But then I don't use promo listings or any of the other add ons that cost more money.  I choose not to use them and my sales are fine.

I have always said that MP works for some and not for others.  It is a personal choice to make if it is right for your little business or not.  But make an informed decision with the facts, not with assumptions or incorrect information.  All I try to do is make sure the correct info is out there for sellers to be able to form their own decision with the fact.  Whether they decide to stay or go is up to them.

We also had to pay per picture back then, and the FVFs were based on the starting price of the listing.

Re: disgusted with eBay

I cannot believe the **bleep** they have put me through with this STUPID MANAGED PAY!  I got warning after warning the date was getting closer....update my banking info.  So you are forcing this on me.  I have a small WV fcu that I have had for 35 yrs.  I had it on there years ago but they were helping themselves to it so I just kept my debit card on there.  I go to put it in again for this idiot managed thing, ebay couldn't manage an umbrella in a rain shower, I was happy with Paypal.  Sure I have to pay a fee, but no worries was worth it.  My banks not on the list.  It said, sorry we cannot update at this time.  So I do the call me in a minute.  The rep and I go through it, he's in another country, of course, done.  Next day, UPDATE BANK.  I do it all over because the rep had shown me how the day prior.

Next day, WARNING UPDATE YOUR BANK.  Call me in a minute.  No call.  Try again, call me in a minute.  No call

Try again, YOU'VE EXCEEDED THE NUMBER OF REQUESTS IN A DAY>  I wouldn't have if you would freaking call me!!!!

Then, all of a sudden, I get in my messages, YOUR BANKING INFORMATION IS UPDATED!!!  I guess instead of calling me , they looked and changed something,

Today, YOU NEED TO UPDATE YOUR BANKING INFORMATION!!!!!! OMG!! OMG!!  I haven't even got paid from something I sold yet.  And I have 1 negative feedback from someone who didn't even pay me.  The bad is exceeding the little extra money I make.

I guess all the China dealers, who sell **bleep** and take months to ship their **bleep**,  are more catered to than some old lady with a federal credit union.  What BANK do they use?????

More than three months later, you haven’t left?  Glad you stayed!  We need good sellers here.  Is MP better than you feared?

Re: disgusted with eBay

I'm also a long time seller, and I agree.  The new policy of direct payment is time consuming and confusing.

I actually had to put money into my PP account to cover my shipping costs (I don't want every label deducted from my bank account)

It seems unless your are million dollar or more business, ebay is not really interested in you

Not sure were to go from here

Re: disgusted with eBay

how I see if I am getting credit for my sales is I save the message ebay sends me when they send a payout. When I get my bank statement, I check and delete the messages as I check my statement. If I have any messages left for payout, then I know it was not put in my account. It works for me, just more work than I had to do before

Some confusion is coming from not understanding how MP works.  If you'd like to ask some specific questions or give specific situations that are driving you nuts, some of us may be able to help you.

On your specific statement about shipping charges, I can tell you that you do misunderstand that.  MP does NOT deduct shipping from your checking account.  That does not happen at all.

When you create a label in MP through the Ebay label system, you have an option on your screen to have the cost of the shipping to deduct from your MP account or you can have it deduct from your PP account.  There is no such option as to deducting from your checking account, so you do not have to worry about that at all.

Once you make a selection, it will default to that for each label  you make after that unless you change your payment option.

Somewhere close to 80% of Ebay sellers are small sellers so Ebay is interested in you and me.

Let some of us experienced with MP help you.  Ask any questions you have or describe any things that drive you crazy about MP.  We may not be able to take all the issues away but we may be able to lessen your load.

Dang that is a hard way to keep track of things and likely will lead to your missing stuff.  It doesn't have to be that hard by a long shot.

Go to your Seller Hub, there is a payment tab there.  All kinds of information is contained there.  Spend a little time with it and then come back and ask questions that you need some clarification on.  There are far easier ways to track your sales and most it right at your fingertips, you just didn't know it was there.

Re: disgusted with eBay

ALL CORPORATIONS ARE PULLING AS MUCH MONEY OUT OF AMERICA AS THEY CAN RIGHT NOW.

The great reset is their goal, and we need to fight back.

As far as ebay goes, this return policy sucks, but the customer service, lack of, is just killing me. Foreign customer service is near useless because the people don't understand the system for the most part, and are given no power to do anything. Getting switched from dept. to dept.  is sure to get you hung up on. Chat is just totally for noobs, and it's usually better to just try to go online and find a solution.

The fees have gone too high as far as I'm concerned, and the fact that they charge me 12.35% on the amount I pay in taxes is a scam IMO. I never even touch that money but I have to pay a percentage on it? Get real.

The taxes are also a let down, what does California need to take that much from a used item for? Seriously? I had to pay taxes when I paid for it, and every where down the line people were charged taxes before it got to me, and then when I sell it used I have to pay equal sales tax? That's freaking crazy.
