Why would a seller completely ignore an open case?

I don't get this.

I have bought 5 times from this person. Last time I had to ask what happened since the only update to shipping was "Departed Shipping Partner Facility, USPS Awaiting Item"

When I asked about it, I received an apology and was told a new one would ship and if they both got there, consider it a gift.....

I got the paint eventually... stupid me bought again.

Same thing. Same message on the tracking. 12 days and nothing has shipped.

I opened a case Friday. Crickets. What chaffes me is that I have to wait until Friday to re order from another site. I can wait for my refund, but I don't need or want 2 of these.

How many of these where a case is ignored until eBay removes them?

After the 3rd day you should be able to call and have them close the case for you?

You don’t even have to call, you just use the link to ask them to step in.

ive had this experience with the mega book sellers, they use those “shipping partners”. They didn’t exactly ignore the case, they never responded to me or the INR until they issued a refund on the 3rd day

Last time it happened, when you finally got your item

1. did you end up getting 2? or just the 'reshipped' one?

2. if you got 2, did you look at the shipped date on it? or was it viewable?

Re: Why would a seller completely ignore an open case?

I only ever got one.

If you click on shipping, a tracking number was created, and it "looks" like my order was picked and packed by the "shipping partner" and is awaiting handoff to USPS.

I doubt there is a "shipping partner"

eBay will not allow me to escalate until Friday, a full 7 days from when I opened it?

Does this even remotely look like something actually shipped?

I don't know but that's weird . Did you check the sellers feedback to see if any other buyers are having this problem too  ? It seems if this has been happening  a lot and not just with you  the seller may already be on e bays radar .  I may be facing a likewise scenerio  myself . I ordered a red purse quite some time ago  from a seller  but it has yet to arrive . Today is the last due date  for delivery . I contacted the seller last night just to let them know the package hasn't  been delivered yet . Its been about 30 days since I placed the order . They replied by saying  my order may have become lost in transit . They also wrote  that they had sold the last red purse  to another customer  but they still have black, blue , brown  in stock and which color would I prefer they send  as a replacement ?  I replied ''none '' because I had ordered red for a specific reason . This may be one of those sellers that  are going to be very reluctant to refund . In your case ,, I'd check their feedback and stay in contact  with e bay  . Hopefully it will work out  for you . Re: Why would a seller completely ignore an open case?

I know I'm covered. I think the biggest thing is that I'm just flat out being ignored.

I want to believe that the seller isn't that much of a jerk, but I'd bet he has been drop shipping and the shipper is having problems. His feedback is down to 98.2%

It's up to you of course  but I would stop doing business with that seller . It seems he's bitten off more than he can chew . Tulips

Re: Why would a seller completely ignore an open case?

When I see the terms "shipping partner" in USPS tracking, it's always meant either DHL, UPS Mail Innovations or Fedex Smartpost. USPS gets the tracking number ahead of time, but obviously cannot scan it until the package has been received by them.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Re: Why would a seller completely ignore an open case?

I'm not sure why they are telling you 1 week, but this is something that has had different results depending on which rep you speak to.

The last case like this we had as a seller, they told us we could no longer put it on a 7 or 10 day hold. It was decided immediately for the buyer.

Even INR's can be approved in less time. We had an INR that was 1 week after the ship date, and because the post office did not have any updates after the arrival scan, it was instantly decided. No hold time for us even though we called in.

A couple hours after the case was decided against us, tracking updated and it was delivered.

Of course once it was delivered, eBay does NOT require the buyer to send the item back. And he did not send it back. Sellers are out of luck in the case that an INR is received.

Smiley Mad I vote for the drop shipper - I hate buying an item to later find out - they are truly out of stock but won't tell you.  And here you thought you would have it in 7-10 days or you would not have ordered from them and would have bought someplace else. Then you wait until after the due date, and they have 3 days to upload a tracking label - which when you look has not yet been received by the shipper and 4 weeks later you finally get the item (after the seller ordered it, waited for it on their end and then re-mailed it to you)  And sometimes the reporting to ebay button does work.

Re: Why would a seller completely ignore an open case?

At 2:23 am - picked up by shipping partner

At 21:43 pm- USPS awaiting item

At 21:53 pm-  trackingnumber provided.

I'm confused -- either the dates or the times are wrong.

When the seller prints/buys a shipping label, she gets a tracking number.

When it is turned in to the PO, they note it as accepted.

How did USPS know anything until the label was purchased, the number added, and finally the package accepted?

Does the USPS site show the item as accepted and on its way?

Nothing else is really relevant.

Re: Why would a seller completely ignore an open case?

To me it sounds like the seller may be going through something serious that is not ebay related.  If their feedback has gotten down to 98.2% then that is really bad.  It only takes a few times not responding to cases until you are a below standard seller, and then you're pretty much done selling on ebay.  I would just assume that the seller is going through a hardship, and I would close the case to get my money back.
