2 True Stories:

1. I bought the laptop I am using to replace the one I destroyed with a coffee spit-take from reading an Ebay Community comment, and it almost happened again just now.

2.  It was several years ago when I worked at a restaurant that I first saw a chick pull her money out of her bra, and I thought "GROSS!"  Now, if my kid and I are walking to the grocery store instead of driving, and I don't want to bring my whole purse and I have no pockets, H yeah that sh's going in muh bra.  And/or debit card, and/or house key.  Yeah, I've let go of "GROSS!"  That's a young gal's shame.

Bra money is money.

I have both given it and received it and never had any complaints.

I also have a bra phone, bra access card (open doors with a chest bump!) and bra pens (those sometimes come with a temporary chest tattoo on the side tho).

Free local Facebook and craigslist work great for one of a kind/heavier items.

Nothing beats a handshake and cash in hand.

But those venues are not sustainable for selling  small single cheap items. (T-shirts etc')

Sell everywhere, maximize your profits..

Facebook is honestly like walking into a dumpster fire of broke people that watched too many episodes of Fast and Loud and think that's how you negotiate a deal. The sad part is the follow thru is non existent as they show up with an old broken PS2 and $200 in bra money looking to trade for a set of STI wheels. This was never part of the deal, but they're going to tell you it was.

I guess it depends what you sell and where you live, I sold on Fb/Craigslist multiple relatively expensive items i would never dare list here,

Pottery barn furniture, motorcycles, high end car parts (bmw, Bentley etc') not one negative experience.

I did have few bad experiences with entitled abusive buyers on Ebay.

I sell where i can make a profit, my loyalty to Ebay is the same as Ebay's loyalty to me.

OP is gone. It takes months to close a seller account, so he's not NARU voluntarily.

As to the topic of free, free is not a bargain if nobody buys anything.  Not everybody has a local market for the stuff they sell.  I would use local marketplaces if I sold cars, car parts or farm equipment. For anything else, forget about it.

Note to self:  Don't try posting in multiple threads at once lol

I took a look at FB and there was some mention 5% + $.40 (waived until June 30th)  Not sure if this for business or all listers.

Also for coins, look at coinbook, and etsy also seems to have lower FVF rates. Some of etsy listings (IMHO) were "JOKE" listings, as hundreds of $$$$ for items that had little or no value and were subject to "offer"

I rarely buy, but have a fairly large inventory of consigned items and more usually waiting to get to me, some expensive others should have stayed on the garage sale table. Pushing past 80 (years) I get the same old downsizing plight by my peers with instructions to donate, re-cycle, or throw away unsold items.

I don`t trust either FB or CL. FB is going to charge fees soon-FYI.

Go for it and experience it for yourself how much fun it is for Free -  don't take any one else's word for it..  Only used GL for large items that are too  big to  shiip except by motor freight and  sold them for local pick up only - like a pick up truck camper shell & an outboard motor and it was a PITA..
