Hi all,
Dismayed to find out account has been restricted due to being linked to old partners accounts from a couple of years ago. eBay’s normally helpful support has been surprisingly dismissive of even communicating with me. Is there anything at all that can be done?

chat with ebay

Nope, once you are caught using/linking another account that was suspended it is over.

There is nothing ebay can and will do. If you use someone else's account and get caught you're no longer able to sell on ebay. Don't create another account either, as that will be flagged and suspended too.

Wow that sucks.
Unfortunately, I this is probably just a simply a number game on eBay's part. I suspect they have years of research showing that once an account runs into a problem, the likelihood of 'linked' accounts also having issues is unacceptably high.
You would be surprised how many sellers over the years have posted here to say something alone the lines of "my account got suspended, so I started selling on my wife's/son's/girlfriend's/mother's account". So it's not as if their fears are unfounded.
I suspect that normal eBay customer support probably does not have the authority to undo suspensions, and you'll probably need to reach out through Facebook. But I would not pin all my hopes on that - because let's face it, even the people whose accounts are still 'linked' probably contact support and claim they aren't together anymore in hopes of getting their account restored.

Get your old partner to fix their account.
Other then that, not much you can do.

Thanks so much for this helpful answer. Just to clarify, when you say reach out through Facebook what do you mean exactly?

Something similar was addressed by eBay a few days ago.
This link might help. Or at least give you some direction.

Even if they do that, it's no guarantee.
Remember, there are lots of threads about this where someone else owed money to ebay that was either a housemate or happened to have the same IP as someone 10 years ago who owes ebay - they were told once it was paid, they would be reinstated. But that never happened - they took the payments and still kept the seller suspended.
There may be a slim chance for the OP depending on why(and whether Slim is on vacation or not).
