Ask someone who only sold a few items if they know how to file Schedule
C. Don`t assume that most people know it; most people even don`t know
how to file 1040 and pay other people/companies to do it. To do Schedule
C, it will cost a lot to them.
The thing you seems to be confused with is that the amount on 1099-K is
not an income as you state, but a gross amount, which includes cost of
goods sold, shipping, ebay/etc fees, etc etc. To sort things out, and
possible get $1 profit or none at all...
