There is a negative comment in my feedback that is very old. Very much over a year ago and it is still showing. I was wondering why it it still there. I thought negatives and neutrals were gone after 1 year

Your eBay profile states that neg was posted WITHIN the last year not well over.

If that negative feedback was given 13 months ago or more you wouldn't see it. But since it shows it hasn't been 12 months yet.

Yet the % shows 100%...............

They never disappear, unless removed, but after a year they stop affecting the feedback percentage.

If you click on the little i next to the 100%, you'll see the explanation: "The positive Feedback percentage is calculated based on the total number of positive and negative Feedback ratings for transactions that ended in the last 12 months, excluding repeat Feedback from the same member for purchases done within the same calendar week (eBay time). Note: This could mean that the number of ratings used for this calculation is different from the same number shown in the recent ratings table on the left."
Apparently the negative feedback was left within the past 12 months, but the transaction itself was over 12 months ago. So the feedback will roll off of the 12-month display box soon.

I've come to the conclusion that if you reach a certain level of selling you will NEVER have 100% FB. Negatives are a constant. There's just too many people you encounter for them all to be reasonable people.
I'm starting to wear them like a badge now. It's a right of passage if you will.

I think it depends on the category; some categories tend to have more issues with both merch and buyers. Here's a comparison of your profile with a seller with a similar recent number of feedback, but no negs. They sell clothing and most of those neutrals were about fit. One neutral even just said, "I haven't tried it on yet"!

I have one that should have been removed... but since they only have AI now you cannot get it removed. It has been well over a month and still showing up in the one-month area. I have never seen more of a data mess as whet is going on right now.

I believe it's not just a badge; it's a layer of protection against scammers. When you see a seller with hundreds-or-more feedbacks and none of them negative, what does that tell you? That they've done everything perfectly and never had a problematic buyer? -That's almost impossible. More likely they have dealt with problematic buyers by doing whatever it took to avoid negs, and they'll likely keep doing it, just to keep that pristine 100%. Put yourself behind a scammer's eyes, and that's a nice target.
Another thing, some buyers carry the myth that some sellers are able to get all their negs removed no matter what the details. So if you put yourself behind the eyes of one of those buyers, a 100% pos may not be the badge of trustworthy excellence the seller thinks it is. That buyer could view it with suspicion that the seller just gets away with it when they treat buyers badly, so another seller offering the same item but who is obviously not immune to consequences (because they have less than 100%) is a better option. -And I'm not just speculating on this; I've seen numerous buyer comments about not trusting 100's.
And finally, no buyers are such idiots they can't tell meaningful from meaningless feedback. They can read negative comments and tell if those buyers had unreasonable expectations and/or blamed the seller for things out of their control. So the only way those can really hurt you is if you have enough of them to drop your score so low that buyers just scroll past your listings without reading the negative comments.
I just checked and apparently my 1 neg is going to roll off in June or maybe July (June 18th sale but it was International so the feedback was considerably later). If I'm even the slightest bit looking forward to it, it's only because I would change my reply a little bit, but getting that 100% is not something I really look forward to.

that is usually the case but actually you can have negative feedback(S) in the last year and a 100% rating, all that you have to do is have 2,000 positive feedback for every neg and that is 100.0%

What do you think that level is? I consider us a reasonably large seller now, and we have 100% right now (for the current 1 year period). It's entirely possible.
