Every time I use the "Edit (selected) listing(s)" or "Create new Listings," I painstakingly create the template, the first one, then I press submit, and all the copies are in font Arial 14, no matter what I had written - Times New Roman, Courier, Verdana, etc. It is all set to Arial 14, which makes my listing ugly. .
Anybody know how to workaround this Ebay glitch? Actually, it seems not a glitch, but purposeful, and for what reason? Or what labyrinthine, obfuscatory and esoteric set of Ebay editing rules I should have known about?

@weyland_pubs wrote:Thanks a lot for telling me I can change the font size, but NOT revealing how to do it. No, it can;'t be done from the editor. remember the OP question? The editor does not edit work, it follows the diktats of the uber-editor. The Ebay description editor is not an editor. Go buy Orwell's 1984.
Why don;t you post more messages and waste more of our time.
It is very simple, you just use the dropdown when creating a listing:

i see your frustrated so, i just went to ebays listing section (one that i never use cause i use a third party program to handle it)
im including 2 pics. first one you are right, u cant change it. but on the right is a link for advanced editor. click that and then u see what u do in second pic. u can change everything.
i hope this helps, and i wish u well. for future reference. a lot of people on this forum are hear to help others. be nice, as others might not go this step to help after your response to them

Excuse my sarcasm, and thanks for your replies, but I have a problem with two things:
1. Ebay, nor anyone else, should not be telling us we can edit things when they don't allow us to edit them. That's hypocrisy. That's called being a liar. If it's going to default to Whatfont 14 instead of what we select, then why stick that font selection tool there, when it DOES NOT WORK and EBAY KNOWS it DOES NOT WORK. These are "false font facts."
2. Ebay, nor any other corporate entity, should not be allowed to set "standards" in anything, especially in something like a font-face or what is "pleasing" to the eye. That's absurd, it's behavior miodification and it's Big Brother.
As a web-site designer I have found 2-3 workarounds, but it irks me that EBay thinks they know more than the hoi-polloi about what is art, what is design and what people should be looking at.

"It is very simple, you just use the dropdown when creating a listing:"
What is wrong with you? I posted the question - I said ithat did not work.
Why would I post the quesiton if that worked?
Why are you wasting my time?

Your reply was "Thanks a lot for telling me I can change the font size, but NOT revealing how to do it.", and I gave you a screenshot that showed you how do do it. You asked a question, I gave you an answer. If you don't want an answer, don't ask the question.

take a breath. breath. arial is the font u want. trust me on this. the pics and my last post showed how to get to the advance editor where u can change whatever u want. this is your choice. on the advanced editor u are not foprced to do anything, and now u are free to make your listing how u wish
(again i have a different program i make my listings from, but those pics are how u would do it on ebay )
yes u want to make your listing nice, and u probably want the title in the item description a larger font than the actuall description text, but u can do that on ebays advance editor in the second pic as the pic shows.
i do wish u well. i have felt like u do almost every day over something. and i need my friends to tell me to chill for a minute. just check it out. maybe drink a beer, which im doing now before a 2 hour nap, and then come back to it
u will rock. u have passion. but your like me . to much passion upsets our ability to think rationally. i am just saying we are one and the same. and channel that to customer service and your business and u will rock

Comparing 1984 about government control to a private business is ridiculous.
The constitution does not grant you the right to use Times New Roman on a private website.

They have determined that to be the standard they desire.

@weyland_pubs I find Arial easy to read ... I don't care for serifs ...

Serif typefaces have historically been credited with increasing both the readability and reading speed of long passages of text because they help the eye travel ... When selecting a typeface for young children, or anyone just learning to read, sans serifs are preferable, as their simplified letterforms are easier to recognize.
