Every time I use the "Edit (selected) listing(s)" or "Create new Listings," I painstakingly create the template, the first one, then I press submit, and all the copies are in font Arial 14, no matter what I had written - Times New Roman, Courier, Verdana, etc. It is all set to Arial 14, which makes my listing ugly. .
Anybody know how to workaround this Ebay glitch? Actually, it seems not a glitch, but purposeful, and for what reason? Or what labyrinthine, obfuscatory and esoteric set of Ebay editing rules I should have known about?

eBay has deemed Arial 14 the most aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Why not just use it? I used to use a bunch of different fonts and styles, now I just use plain standard formatting. Much easier that way.

Along with what @pantlandia mentioned many of us users here in the forum have done a lot of discussion about the font and size and we seem to all agree 14 point type seems to work well on mobile devices and since that is the direction of online shopping it seems acceptable to nearly everyone now.
Good Luck Selling!

Wow, thousands of years of art, and history, and business and selling, and writing, and in 2017, a transient entity called Ebay has decreed, once and for all, and for all other people, what is pretty and pleasing and what is the best font and what is the best writing style, the "most pleasing to the eye." LOL!
I would enjoy a good laugh, but you are serious. Is Ebay in California? Typical hypocrisy for these poeple who are always screaming about civil rights and everyone's right to be different, to enforce their own stringent standards and censor anyone who actually is different or disagrees..

It's not a glitch, eBay decided that Arial 14 was a good defult font. If it was Arial 24, would you be here asking why it wasn't Arial 14?

why does my what the heck
what the heck...
If you give me a paper other than "Times New Roman" F for you.
But there are times when the "clown shoes" font would be handy.

as others have said, arial is one of the easiest to read on a computer of phone (times new roman is easiest in a printed book)
and as others have said, the 14 point is a good size for desktop and especially phone, which at leat 50% of your buyers are on)
u can change this if u like. but if u change anything, then change the font point size and not the font

What an idiotic question. it doesn't even make sense. I asked why Ebay had crammed down our throats one and only one font, I did not ask why they chose this particular font to cram down our throats.

Thanks a lot for telling me I can change the font size, but NOT revealing how to do it. No, it can;'t be done from the editor. remember the OP question? The editor does not edit work, it follows the diktats of the uber-editor. The Ebay description editor is not an editor. Go buy Orwell's 1984.
Why don;t you post more messages and waste more of our time.
