They just say "economy shipping" or "standard shipping".
As a buyer I want to know HOW it's being shipped.
FedEx? UPS? Parcel select? First class? Priority?
As a buyer i've actually skipped listings that don't show me this information.
Am I the only one?

Are you looking just here?
Or are you looking at the shipping tab also and still
can't see it?
Yes I am.
But it doesn't always say "Standard Shipping (USPS First Class)"
Sometimes it just says "Standard Shipping".

Because shipping is more complicated than you think. To ship an item you need weight and box dimension.
If I have 100's of items, I need to take multiple pictures each item (5-15 mins per item), I need to buy boxes that will fit what I'm selling ( About $.30 per box), I need to calculate shipping cost...which is often $10+ for 1 lb.
If you want people who offer free shipping to ship faster, just message them. I gurantee they will be more than welcome to charge you more for faster shipping.

So if I decided to buy something from you which address should I choose to include with my payment? My physical address (which doesn't receive any USPS mail) or my PO Box (where all my USPS mail goes)? Should I contact you and ask how you will be shipping so I know what to give you? Which brings me to the question I would ask myself before I hit the buy button ... do I really really need this thing and is it worth the hassle to figure out how it is going to be shipped so I know which address to give the seller?

I do NOT see any of THAT info in your listings either.
Yada yada.......

Most of the time usps first class or priority mail. I will show economy shipping for larger heavier items so I can chose the cheapest way to ship especially if it is going across the country.
If I want to buy something I don't skip listings because of how it is shipped. I don't need anything yesterday so I can wait.

didn't read all the replies .. but .... there are 2 lines for your address - use one for the po box and the other for your street address .... the delivery service will use whichever one it requires .....

As a seller, this is one of the few things that are left to my discretion.
I do not pre-pack my items.
99.999% of my items are now free shipping (but most definitely not for me).
After the sale, I am going to choose the most economical way of it getting there.
These are my reasons.

eBay's system doesn't always give the option to show exactly which carrier is being used.
But you can always send the seller a message and ask them.

Imagine if Ebay forced you to box up and weigh every package while listing. Do people do this?
I don't see Ebay ever doing this, it would be a huge blow to sellers.

I always do this. I know the size of box that will be used and the weight. I use calculated shipping so the shipping cost should always be correct.

I've done the same when I see a magazine that I might want but I know they will send it Media Mail...been burned twice with having to pay the extra postage.

Every single one of my listings says HOW the item will be shipped.

If you were to order 1 yard of 2" wide Velcro from me, I would ship it to you using USPS First Class mail 8oz. It weighs a little over 4 ounces. If you order 4 or more yards, which a lot of buyers do, it will now weigh over 1 pound and I will most likely ship it USPS Priority Flat Rate padded envelope or UPS depending on your address. There are a lot of changes that occur with different weights as far as shipping options.
If it is so very important to know the shipping method, try communicating with the seller rather than creating a thread amongst sellers.
