Fore what possible reason would a customer leave me (or anybody) a neutral and say "THANK YOU"?

I saw one the other day that read..."Beautifully packaged, great item. Very happy with my purchase"...it was a negative. Sometimes I think people are just oblivious and I'm no exception. lol.

I think plenty of buyers do not understand that a neutral is really a negative and a negative means something along the lines of "Seller used my address to break into my house and steal my dog."

Can't please everyone I guess, I just got one today "not as expected" uh what did you expect, exactly pictured and describe, guess they were expecting a $100 lures for $10 bucks.

Did it already get removed? Looked through your recent FB rec'd and see nothing except pluses.

I’ve seen posts by a couple of buyers who said they only leave positive feedback when the seller goes ahead and beyond (upgraded shipping, free gift, etc) and everyone else who did their job got a neutral.
Some people you just can’t please…

As @heckofagame said, maybe passive aggressive and they want you to come to them instead of coming to you. Stupid mind games for "control".
Wasn't there one popular buyer here who mentioned he only gives out positive feedbacks for sellers who give beyond what they are obligated to provide? That meant that whenever a seller only provides 100% of their obligated service, this buyer would give them a neutral feedback. Maybe that buyer bought from you.

Geez thanks
Outstanding isn't Exemplary though.

Maybe it was a sarcastic thank you. Like a "Gee Thanks".
Are you going to reach out to the buyer?
I agree with @bashort. Once ebay doesn't allow you to remove negatives with a positive comment, I'll totally be okay with that. It might be kinda cool to have rows of negative feedbacks that say something like "Greatest Seller Ever". That way when a buyer clicks on my negative feedbacks filter these "false negatives" will drown out and bury the actual negatives I receive.

Another situation of the SNAFU of feedback showing up in MOST RELEVANT order. If you switch to MOST RECENT it is the first one. One of the most ridiculous improvements eBay has made in some time!!

@inhawaii what does their 'Left for others' feedbacks look like?
Great question. I just looked.
His last 6 feedbacks were the same, neutral and "thank you".
So it's not you, it's him 😁

Let it go - some people are just that way.
They probably have a bumper sticker on their car that says "Have An Adequate Day".

They can't read English? When they grade a seller.
They can only write thank you and hello on feedbacks.

Where did you see those posts, just curious...

Or, it could have been someone who was not satisfied with their purchase, but felt it didn't warrant a negative feedback. I would take the "Neutral". Personally, I'm glad it's a 3rd option.
